Dr. Sachin Parikh

Age Defy is proud to announce that Dr. Sachin Parikh will be joining our team beginning September 1st. Dr. Parikh is a board certified Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. His extensive background in Head & Neck Surgery and sub-specialty training in Facial Plastic Surgery give him a unique knowledge of the face and its underlying structures. His practice is focused exclusively on facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Parikh completed his residency in Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford. While at Stanford, he developed a state-of-the-art surgical simulator and was involved in developing surgical courses for doctors in training. He also published extensively in medical literature on topics including minimally invasive facelifts, eyelid rejuvenation, nasal reconstruction, rhinoplasty, and cleft lip reconstruction. His clinical research has also been presented at several national meetings. In addition, Dr. Parikh has kept philanthropy a cornerstone in his career development. He founded FSUCares, an organization whose mission is to provide care for the underserved domestically and abroad.

Kimberly Brown brings to Age Defy six years' experience as a full time acupuncturist with advanced certification in aesthetic acupuncture. Before returning to her home state of California, she worked at an integrative pain clinic and in her own business in North Carolina. She has experience using acupuncture and other natural modalities in treating a wide range of conditions including but not limited to: cosmetic concerns, menstrual difficulties, peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms, infertility, acute and chronic pain, headaches, and mental-emotional issues. In addition to her acupuncture skills, Kimberly brings her skills as a naturopathic doctor to Age Defy. Naturopatic medicine is based on the belief that the human body has an innate healing ability, blending the best of modern medical science with traditional natural medical approaches to both treat disease and restore health. She holds a bachelor's degreee in Biology from UC-Berkeley and earned both a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate in Naturopatihic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

Acupuncture is a balancing procedure that works by inserting various combinations of extremely fine needles into approximately 400 different acupuncture points. The resulting energy flow stimulates the body's natural healing mechanisms. During acupuncture, endorphins, part of the body's natural pain-control system, may be released. Acupuncture may also stimulate the release of pain-suppressing neurotransmitters. Lastly, acupuncture needles may increase the amount of blood flow in the area around the needle, supplying additional nutrients and/or removing toxic substances to promote healing.
