Start: March 5th @ 12:30pm (PDT) - Register (Free)
Leader: Jonathan McIntyre, Web-mapping Guru
Topic:  Many of Western Canada's Consulting firms are using iVAULT to coordinate, integrate and distribute spatial and attribute data.  See how they use iVAULT internally for project coordination and to deliver data to their customers.  iVAULT publishes data from all standard spatial and database business systems - it's web-mapping made easy, flexible and affordable.
Lunch and Learn: GIS Skills for the Engineering and CAD Professional
Engineering and drafting professionals know the power and accuracy of CAD but many have little experience with GIS applications and little time to learn them. Often, they must make a choice between CAD and GIS and then struggle to integrate the data and manually bridge the gap between the two technologies. As a result, workflow suffers compromising efficiency, affecting decision making, and impacting data accuracy and currency.

Engineering GIS and an improved understanding of how GIS skills can complement existing skills can help overcome these challenges and ensure that geospatial data is integrated in a manner that respects both engineering design and GIS requirements.

Some of the topics that will be covered are:
- Data Preparation and Clean-up
- Data Management
- Styling and Theming
- Analysis
- Data Sharing
- Map Creation and Publishing

Date: February 26, 2009
Time: 11:00am - 2:30pm - Lunch Included
Location: 727 - 11th Avenue
