MARITIME AND PORT SECURITY MONOGRAPH TO BE
RELEASED
NEXT WEEK

As you know, on the 10th of every month, the Council publishes a new monograph on critical topics to homeland security.  The Council will continue to publish these monographs through September, and we are looking for your input on topic areas to cover moving forward. Each month's monograph includes interviews with Council members on the private sector's perspective, and also includes a running timeline (interactive on our website) illustrating the events, incidents, and critical government responses and industry solutions pertinent to that month's topic.  We are encouraging Council members to volunteer to be interviewed for the project to ensure that their company's 'solutions' and our members' thoughtful perspective on that month's topic can be included.

Next week, the Council will release its eighth monograph, focusing on how the public and private sectors have worked to protect the nation's port and maritime security environment.   The Council thanks those members who have been interviewed for these pieces; your continued support is appreciated. If you are interested in being interviewed for a monograph, or for sponsorship information, please contact Kristina.

 headernationalconversation

On March 10, the Council hosted with the American Red Cross in the National Capitol Region its fourth Partners in Preparedness Symposium featuring Special Assistant to the President for Resilience, Richard Reid.  The Council congratulates CACI for being recognized for their participation in the ARC's Ready Rating Program.  For more information on the program, click here.

The Council also launched its National Conversation on the State of Homeland Security in conjunction with PIP, featuring W. Craig Fugate, Administrator for FEMA; Gail McGovern, President & CEO of the American Red Cross; and Jack Mayer, Executive Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton and Chairman of the Council's Board of Directors. The three had an engaging conversation about the role of the private sector - particularly the service providers/Council members - and how their participation and thought leadership could help inform and add value to a strategic conversation about the next national goals on preparedness and resilience.
