Council Board Member Pat Schambach and CSC's work with the Department of Homeland Security were highlighted in an article in Homeland Security Today's January 2011 issue. According to Homeland Security Today, CSC was the fifth largest DHS contractor in 2009 with more than $346 million in contracts. Some of the components CSC is most active with are the Federal Emergency Management Administration and the Transportation Security Administration.  In the article, Schambach discusses CSC's past successes and how the company looks to maintain its momentum in the future. Upcoming Monographs Need a Sponsor!  

 

As you know, on the 10th of every month, the Council publishes a new monograph on critical topics to homeland security.  If your company is interested in sponsoring a monograph, you will be interviewed extensively, have final approval over the document and receive two full page color ads in the piece.

On January 25, members on the Thought Leadership Committee met and discussed goals for the year and consolidated the workgroups down to five homeland security topic areas. The committee's work in 2011 will focus on reaching out to DHS officials in each topic area.  If you are interested in co-chairing, joining one of the workgroups, or becoming more active on the committee, contact Kristina Tanasichuk at ktanasichuk@homelandcouncil.org.

ppcPUBLIC POLICY MEETING WITH USCIS
The Council hosted James McCament, the Chief of Legislative Affairs for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, on January 28 at Deloitte. Chief McCament discussed their outreach efforts to the new Congress, the integration and maturation of the immigration case work, E-Verify, potential implementation challenges associated with comprehensive immigration reform, and how the Council can work as a trusted advisor on future immigration policy measures. Thank you to Deloitte for hosting this substantial discussion.
