DHS/ODNI - PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERS PROGRAM | | DHS and ODNI are looking for assistance in identifying candidates for a six month joint project between the private sector and intelligence community analysts. The goal of the project is to establish collaborative partnerships between subject matter experts in the private sector and intelligence community analysts, and will be focused on the following topic areas: Emerging Technologies; Biodefense; Supply Chain Security; Southwest Border Security; and Telecommunications. If you would like to nominate mid or senior level SMEs from your company to participate in this program, please contact Melissa Middlesworth no later than Monday, January 10, and we will provide you with additional information. |
ANNUAL DINNER | |
Council members and friends attended our Annual Dinner on December 9 at the Willard Hotel. The Council presented Mark Sullivan, Director, U.S. Secret Service, with our Lifetime Distinguished Service Award, and recognized IBM as the Corporate Member of the Year and Optelecom-NFK, Inc. as the Small Business Member of the Year.
Council Chairman, Jack Mayer, Executive Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton, challenged members to increase thought leadership work on critical challenges in homeland security and to continue building a reputation as a true, value-added resource for the Department of Homeland Security and other public organizations. Upcoming Monographs Need a Sponsor!
As you know, on the 10th of every month, the Council publishes a new monograph on critical topics to homeland security. If your company is interested in sponsoring a monograph, you will be interviewed extensively, have final approval over the document and receive two full page color ads in the piece.

EXECUTIVE ROUNDTABLE WITH DR. TARA O'TOOLE | |
Dr. Tara O'Toole, DHS Under Secretary for Science & Technology, spoke to a group of Council members at our December Executive Roundtable. Dr. O'Toole discussed biodefense initiatives, S&T's role in supporting the Department's components, and their efforts to identify future problems and threats. The Council thanks Mike Kelly for moderating the discussion.
