What's Around the Next Corner?

We'd been driving for hours. Totally unplugged. Two days and three nights' driving was an absolute pleasure. Country roads mostly. Beautiful, calming scenery during much of our trip out to Michigan this summer.
This scene was around our last corner, but we didn't know it then. We were entering national forest lands, ready for camping, music, workshops and meeting new friends.
A completely new experience. How do we handle these? A mixture of feelings. And LOTS of organization before we'd left of course! Camping checklists, travel folders, car service, and taking care of clients and projects at work.
Organizing sometimes take the fear out of a new experience; you get some semblance of control, of knowing something, anything, about this new experience you're about to have. It can be such a great support as you move into and eventually on from the life change - whether it's an event, an illness, a marriage or a new job.
To your organized life - as you ride the waves of the unknown, and turn the corners, with the bittersweet excitement of a new chapter.

Their daughter is getting married. Her partner was very ill and is coming home. Her business is in its own next chapter, as it grows into something different. She is looking ahead to surgery with a long rehab phase.
Different clients, similar comments:
"I've gained such clarity during this whole time. It's so clear what I need to do. But there's so much I want to do now. Where do I start?"
"I need more time to take care of me and it's hard to find in my life right now. How can I push through this limbo time?"
They are organizing to move on - releasing some of their past, to make mental and physical space for an upcoming chapter - even if they don't know what that chapter will hold for them.
This type of organizing is about mindset and values - what's important now becomes different, as you move through a life transition.
Read on for ten practical suggestions on how to not just "handle it" but move through with growing amounts of peace ... and some semblance of control.

Kathryn May, MSW Life Coach on Organize for a Fresh Start:
"What I like about Sue West's new book is that she leaves no stone unturned, no question unanswered when it comes to the process of organizing.
Whether it's stuff, time, perspective or plans, she presents clear, easy-to-follow suggestions and ideas that help the reader clarify what's important and how to let go of the rest.
And she does this from a holistic standpoint, taking into account the emotional and relational factors that are so often at the core of our difficulties in getting and staying organized."
