Greetings!
Many argue that the best practitioners to deliver facial rejuvenation services are experienced cosmetic dentists. They are giving many local anesthetic injections each day and the delivery of detailed esthetic dental procedures requires a thorough and comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy and the development of exquisite fine motor skills and tactile sensitivity.
At A Smile Above, with our understanding of neuromuscular dentistry and our advanced training and expertise in cosmetic dentistry, it was a natural progression to take certification training in facial rejuvenation techniques and extend our services to include non-surgical procedures using a combination of Botox to help give our patients a youthful, smoother, wrinkle-free appearance to compliment their smiles.
Read on to find out who is your typical patient along with the top three questions asked about Botox.
. Thru this newsletter we hope to share with you our passion for
creating smiles and provide you with the latest information and tips on how to
create and maintain YOUR beautiful smile.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jan

Survey Results: Botox for the Everyday Woman
Research has dispelled the myth that corporate wives and Hollywood are the typical Botox patient. The demographic and perception data trends now show us that aesthetic injectable treatments have continued to evolve into mainstream and accepted options for women from all walks of life. The surveys' findings indicated that the typical aesthetic injectable patient is a married, working mother between 41-55 years of age with a household income of under $100,000. They are health-conscious, with the majority incorporating exercise (95 percent) and healthy eating habits (78 percent) into their lives. In addition, nearly seven out of 10 respondents believe that Botox and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (65 percent) are important parts of their aesthetic routine. Similar to other facial enhancement procedures Botox treatments help regain your natural beauty. The researchers also established that 72 percent of respondents received Botox injections to treat their glabellar lines - shown above and also referred to the "11" - the frown lines in between the brows, while 63 percent of those surveyed received hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections to treat their nasolabial folds - also known as the "parentheses" - the lines around the nose and mouth. To look more relaxed, less stressed, and more rejuvenated were a few of the most frequently cited reasons to receive treatment. Visit our website for more information on 'Facial Rejuvenation'.

Smile of the Day |

Like a bread without the spreadin'. Like a puddin' without the sauce, Like a mattress without beddin', Like a cart without a horse, Like a door without a latchstring, Like a fence without a stile, Like a dry an' barren creek bed - Is the face without a smile.

Success of the Month: "I was amazed with the results..."
"I decided to get Botox after consultation with Dr. Roberts. I was amazed with the results; it dramatically improved my appearance by giving my eyebrows symmetry and eliminating the furrow on my forehead. I was amazed by the comments from my family and friends. They said "you look great", "wow, you look well rested." The procedure was very simple. In fact, I went to work after my appointment. The staff at "A Smile Above" is exceptional. I would recommend them to anyone considering Botox!" - Michelle

Q & A: Botox is a Hot Topic
Botox is a very hot
topic these days. There is a lot of buzz going around about it. Like
all buzz, some things are truthful and some things are myths. If we are
all going to talk about Botox, we need to know the truths about what we
are talking about. Is Botox safe? Botox is very safe when used by a professional who has experience and is familiar with anatomy and proper techniques. Botox is becoming more widely used by dentists who are experts in injection techniques and facial anatomy. Will Botox take away my ability to make facial expressions? This is one of the funniest things about the misconceptions surrounding Botox. In the movies and on television, Botox is portrayed to "freeze" your facial expression. This is absolutely not true. A a patient should never shy away from enjoying the benefits of Botox because they are afraid that they won't be able to move their face in order to express themselves. So, the final question that many of you may be wondering, is Botox right for me? This is a very personal decision. The benefits of Botox are vast. It can help relax facial muscles for many purposes including but certainly not limited to, relieving headaches, solving TMJ pain, minimizing "smoker's lip", which are the vertical lines that appear on the lips with years of pursing your lips, as well as cosmetic benefits. To find out if Botox is right for you, give us a call for a consultation. More information on 'How Skin Ages'
