Hydrate Your Way to a Healthier Smile

Hydrate YourselfThe benefits of drinking water are spoken about on a daily basis.   Our bodies are made up of 70% water and we need to continually hydrate ourselves to keep this healthy percentage in place.

Drinking 8 glasses of water a day can help to flush toxins from our body, lubricate our muscles, lower blood pressure, give body cells strength, and even help to diminish the bags that might be forming under our eyes.  Without water, we wouldn't survive.

Every time we eat or drink something, we are introducing a variety of sugars and acids into our mouths. This feeds the bacteria which attacks our teeth for at least 3O minutes after we have eaten.

By making sure that you drink water after you eat, you can begin to neutralize the acids, and stop the attack against your teeth.   Here's a scary thought: studies have shown that it takes 32 glasses of water to neutralize one glass of soda; that's a lot of water!

Drinking water can also help prevent the occurrence of stains, so make sure you are drinking enough water! If you would like a head start on getting those pearly whites even whiter, take advantage of our special this month.

Success of the Month: "I am glad I found you..."

"Smiles bring joy and happiness to life. Thanks for giving me back the joy of smiling and the pleasure of being able to chew and enjoy my food again. This is no ordinary dental office - it's a unique experience in dentistry. I'm glad I found you. Thank you to you and your amazing staff."

Even More Reasons to Smile
  • Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure - When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?
  • Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin - Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.
