Greetings!
August always reminds me of the long, hot summer days of my youth in Western New York. Days spent hanging out with friends, weekends on our boat and dinners consisting of garden bounty... mountains of sweet, yellow corn-on-the-cob, fresh picked tomatoes and crisp, cool, creamed cucumbers. After dinner we would all pile into the car and drive down to the local ice cream stand for some of the best frozen custard ever made.
The dog days of summer in Southern California, where I now live, are different with time spent in the local mountains and at the beach (think surfing and Beach Boys tunes), evenings with friends and family and late nights at Disneyland. Margaritas have replaced lemonade (LOL) and fresh seafood, homemade guacamole, salsa and chips reign supreme. And while we don't have a frozen custard stand nearby there is a Date Shake Shack on PCH that has been there since 1946!

August is county fairs, family reunions and vacations (a very necessary time of rest, reflection and renewal). I'm traveling to Virginia for a few days before my oldest son heads back to college. Then it's back to work as we are busily preparing to launch Phase One of our brand new website! Be sure to connect with us on to get the latest updates on the launch.
What comes to mind when you think of the month of August? Any favorite memories? Any fun plans? Just hit reply to tell me - I look forward to hearing from you!
Wishing you an excitingly restful month,
Kim

Erin Grace
|
The EPA is delighted to introduce Erin Grace of Erin Grace Events as the dynamic individual who is leading the development of the Event Planners Association's first California Chapter.
We met Erin at BizBashWest in June where she immediately jumped on board! Erin is working with a dedicated group of fabulous event professionals to bring the EPA's vision of local networking and educational support to the Southern California communities.
"The opportunity to work with The Event Planners Association arose and I gladly accepted. I can see, even in its inception, that this chapter will have endless possibilities; I know it will be a fantastic group of professionals. The Event Planners Association has identified the need to bring Event Planners together by focusing on industry related topics, professional growth and much more, thus creating a professional group which everyone can benefit from," related Erin.
Watch for information on the The Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter's inaugural event to be held within the next couple of months. Please contact Erin if you would like to join this exciting group at erin.grace@rocketmail.com.
