Library Use Soars at River Campus
RIGHT: The two-story library, located at the heart of the new academic center, features striking river views
In a telling example of what a difference state-of-the-art facilities can make, the new Goodwin library is reporting a 34 percent surge in usage compared with January 2008.
The bright, inviting 6,000 square foot space represents a major upgrade from its former home, inspiring an increase in book checkouts as well as internet database use, according to library staff.
Members of the public have gotten involved as well, donating over 250 volumes to the college's growing collection.
More information on the Goodwin library, which is open to the public as well as students, is available on its website. Anyone interested in donating books or DVDs can call 860-727-6782. |
