The Crossfire rocket soars up to 1300 ft, while the Amazon towers over other rockets at 3 ft. tall. Campers enjoy great space games and snacks while learning all about launch safety in the spectacular surroundings of the Challenger Space Center. Every student receives a launch pad and launcher to continue the fun with their families and continue their learning at home.

$90.00
Held at Pima Air and Space Museum
Register online or call the office at (520) 733-7000. |
| SCIENTIST OF THE MONTH |
|
Selman Waksman (July 22, 1888) Through his research on organisms that live in the soil and their decomposition, Dr. Waksman discovered Streptomycin, which was the first effective treatment for Tuberculosis. His research led to the discovery of at least 20 other antibiotics. He even came up with the word "antibiotic".
Dr. Waksman was a professor at Rutgers University for forty years, and the money made on the licensing of his patents established the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers. Selman Waksman was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1952. |
| WORMS IN DIRT |
|
|
Make this creepy, crawly dessert for your next summer picnic. You will need:
Plastic cups
Chocolate pudding
Chocolate sandwich cookies like Oreos
Gummi worms
1. Put cookies in a ziploc bag and pound until they are crushed and look like dirt.
2. Fill the plastic cups 2/3 full with pudding.
3. Sprinkle with cookie "dirt" and place gummi worms in the dirt.
4. Refrigerate until ready to eat. |
