Using Primary Sources in the Classroom
We often receive messages from teachers who are struggling to provide their students with primary sources and other instructional resources due to recent budget constraints.  All of the lesson plans that are available on our web site are FREE and each one uses primary sources that can engage students on a wide range of historical topics.
This month, we have lessons on Slave Codes in 1833, secession, convict leasing, and an Alabama connection to Texas.   Remember to preview all of the lessons to make sure that they are age and grade appropriate for your students.  Check out the names of the authors to see if they work in your school or school system!

We would like to get your comments and suggestions about the lesson plans.  A Feedback button is located at the bottom of the lesson plan index for your convenience.
