Community Investment Notes
New Partner Agency
Please join us in welcoming TEEM, The Education & Employment Ministry, to the United Way family. United Way funding is directed to the Job Placement Program that assists clients with finding a job.
TEEM has offered employment assistance since its inception in 1986. They serve those who often have the hardest time finding work. Through this program a Job Coach follows through with clients upon job placement for support, increasing the likelihood of job success and their chance of receiving a higher wage. Given current unemployment statistics, we believe that the services of TEEM are in great demand.
Revised Allocation Request Packages
Revised budgets are due Friday, August 17. You will soon be receiving information on how to complete the Revised Request Package. If you have a new staff member working on this task, please send their name and contact information to Stephanie Corder.
The agency's budget will need to be revised based on the actual approved allocation per the Award Letter dated June 18. The Community Investment Subcommittees will meet in September to review and accept the revised budgets.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Oklahoma Named Large Agency of the Year
by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has named Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma 2009 Agency of the Year. BBBSOK is the number one leader among the organization's large Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in the nation.
"Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma is a pacesetter that collaborates with foundation, corporate and individual donors on an effective strategic plan to effectively serve Bigs, Littles and families, creating long-term, results-focused mentoring relationships that help put children on the path to success," said Judy Vredenburgh, President and Chief Executive Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. "I am proud to be a part of our communities in Oklahoma committed to helping our children succeed," said BBBSOK CEO Sharla Hall. "This award says as much about our communities of supporters as it does about the agency itself. In this economy, it is more important than ever that we recognize and support what works to help children stay in school and away from negative influences." |
