Helping to Set the Pace
A record setting number of companies/agencies are helping set the pace for the 2009 United Way campaign. A total of 107 Pacesetters will run their campaign between now and the end of August, creating momentum for the fall campaign.
As tradition has it, the Pacesetter Games helped kick-off the summer campaign with unmatched rivalry between 30 Pacesetters. Although there could only be one winner, all teams gave it everything they had to make the friendly competition fierce.

Recognize Loyal Contributors
United Way wants to thank long time donors, 10 years or more, by recognizing them as Loyal Contributors. There are many ways you can incorporate this into your workplace campaign. Below are a few ideas to help you acknowledge Loyal Contributors in your organization.
- Include Loyal Contributor recognition in campaign kickoff materials and e-mails.
- Recognize Loyal Contributors at kick-off events by asking everyone who has donated for 25 or more years to stand, then 20 years or more, then 10 years or more and thank them for their loyal contribution.
- Provide a special perk to Loyal Contributors such as a jeans day or special parking.
- Encourage Loyal Contributors to self-identify by providing the year they began giving on their pledge form.
- Feature Loyal Contributor stories in electronic communication, on your Web site, and at rallies.
