March/2012
Greetings!

Resurrection Sunday is a few days away!

Easter has always been my favorite day every year of my 36 years in Gospel Ministry.  In His resurrection, we have hope for eternal life.  "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you" (Romans 8:11).

Because of what Jesus did for us through His death on the cross, burial, and resurrection, I pledged my vow to God when He called me into ministry as a teenager that I would engage a conversation to present the Gospel to at least one lost person every week throughout the year.  As Paul was inspired to write in Romans 10:13-14, "For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?"

This season of the year offers fruitful opportunities to share Christ with others.  People are open to hearing the Gospel and willing to dialogue about Jesus.  I pray your divine encounters this Easter are effective for the sake of the Gospel and His Kingdom.

I trust you will find helpful resources in this month's Texas Baptists Evangelism E-Newsletter to celebrate Easter in your church and community.

Please subscribe to our mailing list and forward this newsletter to friends and family who are interested in learning about what your Evangelization Team offers for encouragement, training, and inspiration. Together we show and share the clear message of salvation in Christ to every person and household in Texas and the world.

The following videos explain the search in people's heart for something. We know that something is Christ, the Risen King, but others have not found that yet. Check out these videos and please share them with your church as the coming holiday approaches.

I Smile, God is at work at Calvary Baptist Church
McAllen, Texas

Meet a church in the Rio Grande Valley where God is at work and bringing smiles to participants through the Ministry Evangelism efforts of the church.  Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, Texas recently completed a Community Transformation Workshop where they were challenged to rethink their Community Outreach and

Evangelism strategy for their Jerusalem.  Their Pastor, Julio Guarneri, is challenging them and leading them on a journey as they seek God for their City.  Calvary feels called to be a church that connects with their community and be the presence of Christ as they serve and meet the needs of their community.  Here are some of the ministry evangelism efforts that they have been involved in and several are newly launched efforts to help them better reach their community for Christ.
