Storms Keep You Away? Watch KWG on TV   

Reader at Open MicTune in to Community Television on Channel 12 tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. and enjoy KWG's annual Open Mic Night! The annual KWG event took place last Thursday night at the Laurel Theater. Now you can watch this revue of talented writers on TV. It will play again July 18.The Knoxville Writers' Guild has its own Community Television Show now airing at 11 a.m.. each Wednesday on CTV.  The show can also be watched online at http://ctvknox.org/

 

    

  

 

Award Winning Nonfiction Author to Speak  

John Tullock

 

The publishing industry has changed, leaving behind many ill equipped writers. At the next Knoxville Writers' Guild meeting, author John Tullock will help writers understand how to navigate this new world.    

 

The event, which will be open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street in Fort Sanders. A $2 donation is requested at the door. The building is handicapped accessible. Recognitions and Events

Candance Reaves
Candance Reaves will read at Union Ave Books at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 15. The reading is part of the bookstore's popular Poets3 event. Come enjoy it for yourself at Union Ave Books, 517 Union Avenue downtown.

Judy DiGregorio
Humorist Judy DiGregorio, author of LIFE AMONG THE LILLIPUTIANS, MEMORIES OF A LOOSE WOMAN, and JEST JUDY (CD), is the guest speaker for a Brown Bag Lunch Seminar at the Y-12 National Security Complex on July 26 at Jack Case Center. She will speak on the humor-filled life. Judy will also be heard on the Tennessee Shines WDVX Live Radio Show on July 30 during the 7 PM show. She will read two of her humorous stories. 

Vicki Lane
North Carolina mystery writer Vicki Lane will be the next speaker in this year's Historic Rugby Appalachian Writers Series. She will speak at 7:00 p.m. eastern on Saturday, July 21, in the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre. The event is free and a book signing will follow. She will have copies of her novels to sell, as well. Historic Rugby, founded in 1880 by British author Thomas Hughes, is located on Tennessee route 52 in northern Morgan County.
