KWG Meeting June 7!
 | | Bryan Charles |
By Scott Brooks Novelist and memoir writer Bryan Charles, author of "There's a Road to Everywhere Except Where You Came From," (Grove Press, Open City Books), one of Library Journal's best nonfiction books of 2010, will speak to the Knoxville Writers Guild on Thursday, June 7.
The event, which will be open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street in Fort Sanders. A $2 donation is requested at the door. The building is handicapped accessible. Additional parking is available at Redeemer Church of Knoxville, 1642 Highland Ave.
Novelist Michael Chabon called Charles' book "a sneakily disturbing, disarmingly profound, casually devastating memoir, taut and adept, that cracked me up even at its saddest moments, and broke my heart almost without my quite noticing." Charles will talk at the upcoming KWG meeting about his life-changing journey from a small town in Michigan to the fall of the World Trade Center before landing in Knoxville. Charles will share his experiences and how it affects his creativity. To read more, click http://www.knoxvillewritersguild.org/ Read about Charles' in Metropulse!
