Nationally noted Tennessee poets Linda Parsons Marion, Edward Francisco and Blas Falconer will speak at the April 5 meeting of the Knoxville Writers' Guild.

The event, which will be open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street in Fort Sanders. A $2 donation is requested at the door. Ed Francisco, a poet, novelist, essayist and playwright, is author of nine books, including two that were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize: "Death, Child, and Love" (Wp Books, 2000) a volume of poetry, and a novel, "The Dealmaker" (Wp Books 2002). His poetry collections include "(Lie)fe Boat" (winner of the 1995 Bluestone Press award); "The Alchemy of Words," (one of Small Press Review's Top Picks for 2007); and "Hunting Keats" (volume forthcoming from Birch Brook Press).

Blas Falconer will read poems from "A Question of Gravity and Light" (University of Arizona Press, 2007, and from his upcoming collection, "The Foundling Wheel."
