Health Tips for Fall
1) Follow the sun
As the suns light wanes, so does the fire inside the body. Digestive capacity and mental acuity decrease as the sun goes down. Finish your work before dark. Finish your meals before dark.
2) Moisten your skin
Fall is dry, just look at the leaves falling from the trees, they are shriveled and dried up. This is what happens to our skin in the Autumn. When the skin is dehydrated, so is our lymph system which carries the immune system. Put more oils and lotions on your skin during the fall months. Try one of my favorite lotioins: Weleda Mallow Body Lotion
3) Eat warmer foods
The fall is known for its cool, crisp mornings. Avoid cold foods for breakfast when it is cold outside. Fall is the time to let go of morning smoothies and frozen fruit drinks and go back to warmer breakfasts. Please don't eat boxed cereals with cold milk for breakfast, you are setting yourself up for a cold. |
