October 2008

Greetings!

I hope you enjoyed our September update "Protecting Our Children" on moral safety.  We've appreciated all of your feedback on that piece!  Watch for our next update on managing relationship stress during times of financial hardship.

Just once a year, we send an email like this one. Like all charitable organizations, Peace in the Home needs to raise financial suppport in addition to what it can charge for events, in order to remain viable and effective.  Please give thoughtful consideration to "strengthen a marriage ... encourage a parent".

Strengthen a marriage ... encourage a parent

This may not be news to you, but it's important to hear again and again: the home is under tremendous pressure today!  Family breakdowns are happening far too frequently.  Our kids are making decisions that are having unhealthy and sometimes devastating effects on their lives.  Many families today are strained and hurting -- in need of encouragement or support in order to ensure their health and success.  Unfortunately, our culture doesn't seem to be a source of either help or hope.

Peace in the Home.  It's both our name and our mission.  Our vision at Peace in the Home is to provide families with tools to thrive in a culture where relationships have become almost expendable.  Some of the vital resources offered in our tool box include:  marriage workshops and retreats, parenting seminars, counseling for married and engaged couples, relationship coaching, support for single moms and dads, marriage mentor training, and marriage crisis intervention.

Friends, we need your financial support today so we can do a better job at meeting the needs of hurting families.  Will you prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible donation to Peace in the Home, and join our effort to bolster God's most foundational institution?

Right now our needs are great.  First, we are looking for individuals and families who are willing to support Peace in the Home on a monthly basis.  $25, $50 or $100 a month can make a lasting difference for many families.  Of course, we would be grateful for any one-time gifts as well.  Please make your donation payable to:

We are honored and grateful to be missionaries to the family.  Whether serving in religious or secular contexts, we are singularly devoted to strengthening the home as an act of obedience and worship to God.  We welcome your prayers, support and partnership.

Serving and strengthening families,
