FEATURED TO-DO: Fifth Annual Chicago Tap Summit
Greetings!

Stephanie - just havin' fun!
It's been a long time since I sent a "Weekend Rundown," but my day gig has me swamped!  So here we go:

Soleil's To-Dos
is joining the Tofu Chitlin' Circuit to invite you to see The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity tonight at Victory Gardens!  This is the closing weekend of this uproariously hilarious play with a message!  The setting is a wrestling ring, the cast is multi-cultural, the humor is sharp and we're certain both men and women will love it!  Afterwards, we'll meet at Soiree for a cocktail and a little conversation.  We've arranged for a slight theater ticket discount ($35), and I've got one-two tickets left.  If you'd like to join us, be the first to make your payment!  Visit our Theater Page or our Facebook event listing for details, payment links and video clips!  I hope to see you tonight!

Looking for Halloween To-Doswww.so-LAZE.com includes some interesting listings for theater, parties, haunted houses and family events and here are a few picks:
  •  Spooky Pooch Parade - Yes, this is the day that you can legitimately dress up your pooch!  Chicago Botanic Gardens opens its gates to (wo)man's best friend for a few hours of participation in this fun-filled family event!
  • Nightmare @ 63rd St. Beach House - A fun afternoon for the entire family!  Find out what's happening at a park near you at www.ChicagoParkDistrict.com.
  • WineStyles SoLo Costume Contest - Dress up yourself and even if you lose the contest, there will be plenty of wine to drown your sorrows in!
  • Spooky Seas Family Overnight - This Halloween adventure at the Shedd definitely gives a new twist to a slumber party!  Stay over night, or come back in the morning for breakfast!

A Few Picks for this Weekend!

Tonight is The Frankie Beverly Tribute Party!  The fact that he'll be performing tomorrow night (with Babyface!), means he's likely to be restricted from performing tonight.  But, hey - Frankie B in the house!

On Friday, Muntu Dance Theatre returns with DanceAfrica ChicagoExplore a unique culture through a unique performance. Blending contemporary and traditional dance with song and percussion, three troupes from the United States and abroad, teach and tell stories of everyday life.

Saturday is the last day for the Bronzeville Community Market and the 61st Street Farmers Market.  Be sure to take this last opportunity to shop for local produce, buy some decorative and/or edible Halloween and Autumn decorations and commune with your neighbors!

M.A.D.D. Rhythms presents celebrates the Fifth Anniversary of the Chicago Tap Summit with a special performance, "Take 5" on Sunday!  Tickets are only $20, but Dana M. and Lateefah N. will each go free of charge with a guest!  Congratulations, Dana and Lateefa - you are each the winner of a pair of tickets to see "Take 5"!  You will receive a separate e-mail with details regarding your tickets.

On Monday, Chicago Sinfonietta, in connection with the Chicago Humanities Festival, presents "Laughter," at Chicago Symphony Center. Think you can't laugh at the symphony? Think again! The CHF theme of Laughter is explored in [this] annual collaboration when guest conductor Michael Morgan delves into the humorous impulses of composers past and present.

Whatever you choose To-Do, make it a fabulous weekend!
