'Tis That Time Of Year

Yes folks, Christmas is approaching.

Tree Lot
Setup of the Christmas Tree Lot started last Saturday (thanks to those who came out to assist).  The lot officially opens Friday, November 27.  Some volunteers are still needed and, of course, buyers are welcomed.  For more information contact us at info@kiwanis-southedmonton.ca.

Kettle
Once again this year we will be supporting the Salvation Army by working the Kettle at Costco (91 Street & 24 Avenue) for three Saturdays (December 5, 12 & 19).  Volunteers are also needed there.  Contact info@kiwanis-southedmonton.ca.

Around The Division

Kiwanis Club of Edmonton - Young Professionals
This Friday and Saturday is the 2nd Annual Buy Nothing Day Free Market event (Stanley Milner Library, 6th floor, room seven; Nov 27 9am-9pm, Nov 28 9am-4pm market, 4pm-6pm clean up/take down etc.)!  We definitely need a lot more volunteers, so please do sign up for some shifts by emailing KiwanisEdmYP@gmail.com.  As a reminder we will be needing extra help with transportation and take down of remaining goods at the end of the day on Saturday from 4pm-6pm, and vehicles would be very welcome here! Currently ALL shifts still need volunteers, however the following shifts are particularly in need of volunteers: Friday November 27 11am-9pm; Saturday November 28 2pm-6pm (4pm-6pm is clean up/take down/transportation). Please also help spread the word, and/or attend!  The more items brought, the more people finding items that they need, the greater success of the event!

Kiwanis Club of Edmonton (Downtown)
Christmas cheer activities on December 14th, 11:45am, at the Edmonton Coast Plaza Hotel.  The cost will be $30.00 per person. We have to give the hotel a number at least one week prior so be sure you call the office 488-8511 and leave a message about your attendance.

Are you involved already?  Then we thank you, but you already know the rewards.

Not involved yet?  Then we invite you to "come on down" and see what kind of dividends your time and effort can produce.  The rewards are great, the commitment is small.

Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks.  Yet most people don't.  They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever.
