Paradise Air

Greetings!

I hope that your new year is still hopeful and that you are anticipating the opening of another flying season.  Hard to believe that spring is just around the corner.  Temp-wise, this has been a very mild winter here in Virginia, and we are looking forward to a spectacular spring.

Tomorrow I have 2-4 introductory flights in spring-like conditions and I'm not sure who is more excited about flying -- me or my customers :-).

Free Shipping
AirBorne is offering free shipping on select models as part of their Sun 'N Fun special.  But to take advantage of this offer you need to order your plane within the next 7-14 days (in time for the aircraft to be built and shipped to Sun 'N Fun).  For more details go to Sun 'N Fun Specials.

Offer Expires: February 21st or when production slots fill.
New "How To" Videos
Wing Setup Video Thumbnail Trike Assembly Videos
One of the most appealing features of trikes is their portability.  But when my customers see a fully assembled trike they are dying to know how long does it take to assemble and how on earth did you get that wing up on top of that mast?

Well AirBorne has just released a couple of videos that answer those questions visually.  Check them out, and as more are developed we will add them here.  Read on ...

AirBorne's 2-Stroke T-Lite
Polini 2-Stroke Engine An Ultralight Ultralight
AirBorne is planning to release a sub-155 pound, 2-stroke, single-seat T-Lite.  This means that this lighter than light T-Lite is almost 50 pounds lighter than the 4-Stroke T-Lite (which weighs 198 lbs.).

The engine for this tiny aircraft will be the Thor Polini 2-stroke engine.  This little engine was 30 pounds and puts out 20.5 HP.  Read on ...

Rotax 912 Service Bulletin
Rotax 912 Engine Mandatory ASB-912-060
Rotax has published an new Alert Service Bulletin ASB-912-060.  I don't know about you, but as the owner of a Rotax 912 powered aircraft I get anxious whenever Rotax publishes one of these.  Does it apply to me?  Will it be expensive to comply?  Will any of my customers be affected? Read on ...

Aircraft Re-Registration
Aircraft Registration Card Re-Registration Review
In my August 2010 newsletter I published an article on the aircraft re-registration requirement.  At that time those of us in Light Sport who had transitioned from ultralights had just finished getting our aircraft registered for the first time and were dismayed to find out that the FAA was changing the rules on us -- but not just us -- all of GA.  So let's review the rule change and the impact that change has on us. Read on ...

FAA Mobile Website
Smartphone Friendly FAA Website Smartphone Friendly
We all dump on the FAA when they do something we don't like.  But we need to give them credit for the things we do like.  As an flight examiner, flight instructor, and airworthiness representative, I have to interact with the FAA or with their applications more than the average pilot, and I can tell you that they have definitely improved some things during that time.  Below are some examples where I have seen improvements that have made my professional, aviation related life easier:  Read on ...
