Paradise Air

Greetings!

Precision Windsports wants to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Even in the midst of a struggling economy (okay, the economy is not just struggling -- it sucks), we in America have a lot to be thankful for.  I'm thankful for my Savior, my family, my freedom, and the fact that we are still in business.  And unlike some aviation companies I know, we haven't been bought up by the Chinese -- at least not yet :-).

I also want to thank our customers, all of whom have become friends.  Thanks for your patronage and your trust.  May God bless you and cause your tribe to increase.

Winterization
XT-912 SST TundraWinterize your aircraft
While we've had a very mild fall here in Virginia, I recently met a student for a morning training flight, and the temperature was 26 degrees.  It was a nippy reminder that winter is just around the corner.

Now I love winter flying.  I have a heated motorcycle suit that keeps me nice and toasty, but most pilots put their planes away during the winter.  If I have any aircraft in inventory or that I am storing for a customer, those planes need winterization.  The thing about machines is, they don't really like sitting around.  You need to prepare them properly, if you want them to be there for you in the spring.

Rotax 912 Alert

Rotax 912 EngineAlert Safety Bulletin

Rotax has just released Alert Service Bulletins ASB-912-059 / 915-042, and they require the crankshafts on select 912s and 914s to be inspected before any further flying, and no later than January 2012.

This is a mandatory bulletin, which means if you are flying an SLSA, you must comply with it.  ELSA pilots do not have to comply, but since the consequences of non-compliance are pretty severe, compliance is an awfully good idea.
