| Women's Initiative members Stepping Up for the community |
Last week's Stepping Up For Girls event was a huge success!
Mechanics Hall was a buzz with the energy and enthusiasm typical of a Women's Initiative event. Hundreds of extraordinary women from the community were present, demonstrating the power of women in central Massachusetts.
The evening featured two inspirational role models, Elvira Guardiola, a mentor through The Girl's CHOICE program, and her mentee, Rosa. Their stories are powerful examples of the value of women's philanthropy.

Congratulations award recipients
There are few community efforts around issues involving women and girls without Suzanne Patton being involved. Suzanne was recognized with the Lois B. Green Leadership Award for her work in a leadership role at Girls, Inc. where her commitment to their mission of helping girls emerge "Strong, Smart and Bold" was adamantly clear.
The Meridith D. Wesby Young Leader Award was awarded to Hanh, an extraordinary 17-year-old senior at Claremont Academy in Worcester. Her nominators wrote that Hanh "has many qualities of leadership that come naturally to her and some that have come through hard work. She is a model of self-worth and dignity in the way she conducts herself with her peers. She has excelled in her volunteerism and service to our community, and is truly a role model for women and girls."
Congratulations to these outstanding women! |
