Celebrate
National Volunteer Week!
NVW logoNational Volunteer Week is an opportunity to thank one of our nation's most valuable assets, VOLUNTEERS! It is time to call the public's attention to all that they do to improve our communities. This year, National Volunteer Week is April 19-25 2009.

The theme, "Celebrating People in Action," truly captures the meaning behind this signature week; honoring the individuals who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities.

Get involved!
A special week of volunteer opportunities
volunteers paintingDuring National Volunteer Week we encourage everyone to get involved by participating in one of our community service projects. Each day between April 19-25 and on May 2 there are "done in a day" projects scheduled. Take your first step to building a stronger community, login to our Calendar Program at
handsonmass.org to search projects and sign up for one today.

Reach out a hand to one and influence the condition of all. LIVE UNITED.

Reader's comment:
"I can tell you from experience that a lot of work goes into planning each activity. The beauty of the Calendar Program is that Rita (Rita Crimmin, Program Manager) does all the leg work, allowing people in the community to easily sign up, show up and really make a difference."
