WSI Welcomes Two New Clients To The Family!
We are pleased to announce the launch of two more projects this month, with the arrival of the "new and improved" websites for the Michigan Bankers Association and Range Bank. Michigan Bankers Association As a banker and now consultant to many in financial institutions, I have been a proud member of the MBA for years. So, when we had the opportunity to work with them to revamp their website WSI jumped at the chance to help out the MBA. The new site features user-level authentication with members' only access to restricted areas of the site, which enables the MBA to easily get information to their members along with an updated event calendar for the latest conferences and seminars. You'll also notice links to the MBA's Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter sites and over the next several months, they will be using these channels more to build relationships online. Range Bank Located in the U.P. of Northern Michigan, Range Bank wanted their new website to convey the "feel" of living in the upper peninsula. Visitors to their new website first see Where We Live and Who We Are links on the home page. Both of these link to interior photo galleries which include images showing beautiful nature scenes, wildlife and Range Bank employees involved in the community. Thanks to the MBA, Range Bank and all of our customers for your continued support and business. All of us here at WSI certainly appreciate your support! |
Where's Waldo (Eric) This Month?
That's a good question. I recently returned from the Michigan Banker's annual convention at Mackinac Island and it was good to be "back at the Grand" for a few days and was excited about the launch of their new website just a few days before the event. Chances are by the time you read this (likely Monday morning), I'll be in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho getting ready to present on Social Media and Managing Your Reputation Online to the Idaho and Utah Bankers Associations. They are having a joint convention and asked me to come in and help shed some light on the new social "trends" and what that means for reputation management in the digital age.
As we've discussed in past issues of the Internet Minute, even if you're not interested in "actively engaging" in building a Facebook page for your business or completing your LinkedIn profile, the reality is that people are going online and likely talking about not only the types of products or services you offer, but maybe even YOU directly. This makes online reputation management of critical importance so that businesses know what's being said about them online.
If you'd like to read a story that illustrates the importance of managing your reputation online, stop over to my blog and read the latest entry.
I'll be on the road a bit more before ringing in the New Year and plan on heading down to Indianapolis, Florida twice, back up to Northern Michigan and Memphis for more presentations. Give me a call if you'd like to discuss the possibility of having me speak at your next event (269-841-5007)!

Online Project Management - Focus For Results.
Recently on my weekly webinar series, Free Webinar Wednesdays, we featured a session on the concept of online project management systems. If you manage more than one project at a time (and don't we all), using a system more than a spreadsheet and legal pad may reap rewards beyond your expectations. These types of platforms can help virtually any type of organization get more organized and focused on the end result of any type of project, big or small.
At WSI, I personally use a system called Basecamp from a company called 37signals. Since our projects tend to involve a variety of individuals such as graphic designers, programmers, search engine optimization specialists and other areas of expertise, Basecamp helps keep everyone involved on target. We also introduced a new system called Manymoon, which integrates into the Google Apps platform (which also has been covered in past FWW episodes) and offers a free version that you can use to get started (even if you're not using Google Apps).
This week I'm going to take viewers through the process of creating an e-mail newsletter (just like this one). While there certainly are a number of different e-mail systems available today, I'll be using Constant Contact, one of WSI's corporate partners, as the platform of choice and show you just how a system like this works. I think you'll be surprised it's a whole lot easier than you think and a great way to keep in touch.
