Thanks Nebraska Bankers Association - 2010 Bank Technology Conference
Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking at the 2010 NBA Bank Technology Conference in Lincoln, NE. While this was my first time presenting for the NBA, the show seemed very well represented by bankers and vendors alike. For my presentation, I discussed how social networking sites and activities like blogging and comments are changing the way people are doing business (and building relationships) in today's environment. Certainly the "know me, like me, trust me" process that one goes through before picking a company to do business with has changed over the years and bankers need to understand this or risk ignoring a very important (and growing) base of customers. I got lots of great comments after my session concluded and enjoyed making many new friends during my time in Nebraska. I also had the pleasure of meeting fellow GSB instructor, Dr. Kevin Streff of Secure Banking Systems and and catching up with the "famous" Lee Wetherington ProfitStars (formerly Goldleaf). Both also presented during the conference with Kevin covering many important IT and security topics. Lee "brought it home" the final day with a marathon 2+ hour discussion on where technology is headed and how bankers can use it to help create an upturn for their business. Something that all businesses, not just bankers, can take to heart. |

With 60% of all purchases today starting with a search on the Internet, you cannot afford to be ignored by the search engines any longer.

Free Webinar Wednesdays: Online Learning and Sharing Made Fun
When my good friend Jeff Simpkins (of Community Bank Consulting, Inc.) and I came up with the idea of offering a free webinar every week some people said we were crazy. I have to admit, I also wondered if FWW would have the "legs" to keep going. But it's been almost a full year and we are still at it and have over 420 people registered on our list (and growing)!
Here are a few of the more compelling sessions that you may want to review. You are encouraged to join us LIVE every Wednesday at 1 pm ET, but if you cannot attend, all sessions are archived and available online for your viewing pleasure. Of course, there are more great sessions to watch, but these are just a few that may peak your interest. If you have an idea for a webinar (or maybe you'd like to share something of value and be a presenter) let me know. I'd love to hear from you! Visit us at FreeWebinarWednesdays.com and register today.
