Typically I have used the last section of my newsletter to offer up sites that can help your business in some way. I've talked about
Google Alerts for keeping tabs on news on your business (and your competitors) introduced you to
TED for innovative and thought providing videos, showed how to create your own videos with
Jing Project to help with training and education and even provide computer support remotely with
CrossLoop.
But this month I wanted to share how I've turned my new
BlackBerry Curve into an Internet radio station with a cool service called
Pandora Internet Radio. That's right, it's all about
FUN and has nothing to do with business.
To get started, you'll need an account with
Pandora, which is free. You can visit their website and register online or do it via your mobile phone after you've downloaded and installed the program (
http://pandora.com). Once you are registered, you'll be asked to pick an artist or genre of music and the smart folks at Pandora do the rest. Do you like show tunes, 80s hair bands or country music? Whatever your preference, Pandora will automatically create your station and play music that fits your taste(s).
But, the coolest part of it all, is I have been using Pandora on my new
BlackBerry Curve and now have my own Internet radio in my pocket any time I need a music fix. I simply plug in the ear buds that came with my phone, launch Pandora and viola... I've got music anywhere.
Keep in mind that you are responsible for "download and bandwidth" usage on your phone, so check your wireless plan to be sure you won't get surprise charges next month (that's my disclaimer). Assuming you're ok, you can take your own radio station(s) with you where ever you go!
Enjoy!
