Businesses Going Social: Business Review West Michigan Article
Recently, I was interviewed by Business Review of West Michigan on the topic of social networking and how businesses are starting to sit up and take notice. Little did I know that I would end up on the COVER of the paper that week! To read the articles in full, be sure to stop by and check out my In The News section under the Knowledge Center on my website. While the "fun factor" for sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are still there, businesses are starting to understand these sites are a great way to build relationships with customers and gain valuable feedback on ways to improve and be more responsive to their needs. I hope you enjoy the articles and if you want to talk further about how social media can play a role in your business, be sure to give me a call, I'd love to chat. (269) 841-5007. *Interesting side note... I got to watch the photographer "touch up" the picture of me at my desk for the cover and yes, he did take some of the "shine" off my head! Gotta love Photoshop. ;-) |

Book Yourself Solid Course...
With the economic challenges facing businesses today, it seems like everyone is looking for creative ways to attract customers. I personally have been following the Book Yourself Solid method, which is the brainchild of author Michael Port. This book is touted as being "The Fastest, Easiest, and Most Reliable System for Getting More Clients Than You Can Handle Even if You Hate Marketing and Selling" - and it really is!
In addition to the book, you can now receive personal guidance and instruction from certified BYS coaches via an online training course. You may recognize the instructors (fellow Free Webinar Wednesday partners Jeff Simpkins and Matt Walker), and they have both been personally trained by Port to ensure that you (and your organization) get the most out of this very successful program.
If you are interested in learning more or taking advantage of this training opportunity, visit the site BookYourselfSolidCourse.com and check it out.

Add a Personal Touch to Your Documents With Your Own Handwriting!
A few years ago I had a tablet PC that I could operate with a stylus pen, in addition to a traditional keyboard. One of the coolest parts of this little computer was a program that compiled my own handwriting into a personal font, giving my documents a personal "touch". I'd get comments like "wow, that's cool" or "how did you do that?" Well, the other day I had a request from a colleague that sent me on a search and discovered the site, YourFonts.com. This free service will take your handwriting and turn it into a font you can download and install on your computer (and you don't need to use a tablet PC either). Yes, they'll do it for free too! Simply visit their site, download the Template, print it out and write in letters, numbers and symbols in your own handwriting. You then scan the form and upload it to their site and minutes later your font is available for use. They also feature a quick 4-minute tutorial video on their site that shows you exactly how to do it. So, if you're looking for a way to make your next document stand out and you're tired of using the same 'ole Times New Roman or Arial, create your own font and have some fun. Who knows, maybe the reader will actually think you took the time to sit down and hand-write it yourself!
