Isabella Bank's New Website Nominated for 2008 WSI Web Awards! One of my very first projects as an Internet Consultant with WSI was for Isabella Bank, a community bank headquartered in Mt. Pleasant, MI. In addition to being close to my old college "stomping grounds" of Alma College (go Scots!), I just love that area of the state and getting "up north".
Out of the thousands of websites produced by WSI Internet Consultants across the globe, Isabella Bank's new site was chosen by a team of evaluators as best Financial Services site. There are several other categories and only 35 sites in total were nominated, so being selected was quite an honor.
"For our bank, we felt it was important that we work with someone that knew banking and technology, and Eric fit that description perfectly." Steven Pung, Senior Vice President

*Only consultants working for WSI are eligible to vote for nominees in
the 2008 WSI Web Awards. This contest is intended to be a "peer-review" of
best practices for development and Internet marketing and voting is not open to the general public.

Chicago - Here I Come... 2008 Community Bankers Association of Ohio Annual Convention
On Saturday, August 9th I have the honor of speaking at the 2008 Community Bankers Association of Ohio's Annual Convention in the windy city! I'm looking forward to making new friends and spreading the gospel of Internet marketing for community bankers...
The title of my presentation is "Internet Marketing for Community Bankers - Sure, Your Bank Has A Website, But Is That Enough? Probably Not - Find Out Why..." Whew, that's a mouthful, but pretty much hits it on the head. We'll be talking about what makes a good (and bad) website, ways to attract qualified visitor traffic, how to effectively use e-mail marketing for to enhance customer relationships and chat a bit about some of the "web 2.0" technologies that may be coming to a bank near you soon.
While I can't share the slides before my presentation, if you are interested in getting a copy of my presentation after the CBAO Annual Convention concludes, send me an e-mail or give me a call at (269) 841-5007 and I'll be sure you get a copy. While the presentation is directed to the banking industry, the information has application in virtually any industry. |

Complimentary Report: Local Paid Search Marketing At the suggestion of some of you, I've taken the webinar slides from my WSI Local AdWorks paid search presentation and turned them into a comprehensive 12-page written report. If you are interested in learning more about this great way to attract qualified visitor traffic to your site, but haven't had time to attend a webinar, you now have a resource that you can download and read at your own pace.
>>>Download the complimentary report now
Of course, after reading it over if you are interested in learning more or have questions, let's chat. While I've tried to be as complete as possible you may have questions, and that's fine (there's a lot included).
Benefits: With WSI Local AdWorks you'll be able to track all of the following site activities as a result of your advertising spend, making this truly a "performance-based" advertising tool:
- Times your ad is shown (impressions)
- Times your ad is clicked on (click-throughs)
- Key pages on your site viewed (events)
- E-mail messages sent from your site
- Phone calls made from your site
As an added bonus, we can even record the actual telephone calls from customers so you can play them back for staff training and additional follow-up.
Sound like magic? Download the complimentary report and see for yourself! Then, give me a call at (269) 841-5007 and let's figure out how we can put this service to work for you!

Quick Tip: Create Your Own Newspaper!
You may have noticed the orange icon on some of your favorite websites, but do you know what it means? It stands for RSS, also known as Really Simple Syndication, and is a way that you can subscribe to have the website "push" you information instead of going out to get it.
You'll need to get yourself an RSS reader, a program that you use to aggregate all of your subscriptions, and the best part is you can subscribe to as many sites as you want. Then, when you open your RSS reader, it will go out and fetch the most current content from the sites you have selected.
Sometimes people think of this like creating their own newspaper, because you can pick the information you want to see and view it at your leisure. Give it a try, and chances are it will help save you time and keep better informed of all that's happening!

*I personally use NetNewsWire as my reader of preference on my Mac but there are a lot of great ones out there - so feel free to give 'em a try!
