Over $3,000 Raised to Fight Childhood Cancer! Ok, so this may not have much to do with Internet Marketing, but I wanted to publicly thank those of you who made a contribution to my race last weekend at the 2008 Founder's Lumberjack 100 mountain bike race. Thanks to your generosity, over $3,000 was raised to help fight Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.
For your "reading pleasure" I've updated my blog with a recap of the event so you can see just how much "fun" I had during the race. All was good until the fourth (and final lap), but the good news is I was able to complete the 100 miles under the 12 hour time limit (ok, it was by a couple of minutes, but I did finish).
If you are still interested in making a donation, you can visit my PWAP Contribution Page and donate today. You can also support my Pedaling with a Purpose effort by downloading and installing the special Yahoo Search Toolbar, which enables PWAP to share in the per-click fees collected by Yahoo (at no cost to you)!
Photo: Here I am taking a break before heading out on my fourth and final lap with fellow teammate, Mark Sherman. Mark lives in my hometown and is a Neuroblastoma survivor - making it extra special that he was able to come up and help "crew" for the race.
In closing, if you, or someone you know, happens to be a cyclist and would like to help raise money for any worthy cause, have them visit Pedaling with a Purpose to learn more. With PWAP you can take any cycling event and turn it into your own personal fundraiser for the cause of your choice. It's a good way to help make a difference...

Webinar: Back by Popular Demand - Local Search Marketing Revisited Response from my last webinar on WSI's Local AdWords solution was great, but there were a few folks that were not able to make the session - so I'm holding it again. If you missed it earlier this month, now's the perfect time to catch it again and see what all the buzz is about!
If you are currently using paid search marketing (also referred to as pay-per-click, or PPC) or are giving consideration to allocating marketing dollars to this medium, WSI's Local AdWorks can make it easy. Covering 98% of all search activity, ads placed by WSI Local AdWorks ensure that your ad appears in Google, MSN, Yahoo and their related search partners.
New Webinar Date: Tuesday, July 8, 2008 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST
I'll work with you to help determine an appropriate budget based on keyword research, geographic market area and online competition. As a WSI Local AdWorks client, you'll also have online access to activity reports to review your ad spend, click-through rates and other helpful statistics. No other marketing medium provides you with as much "business intelligence"!
With WSI Local AdWorks you'll be able to track all of the following site activities as a result of your advertising spend:
- Times your ad is shown (impressions)
- Times your ad is clicked on (click-throughs)
- Key pages on your site viewed (events)
- E-mail messages sent from your site
- Phone calls made from your site
As an added bonus, we can even record the actual telephone calls from customers so you can play them back for staff training and additional follow-up. Sound like magic? You'll have to RSVP and see for yourself. Simply reply to this e-mail or call (269) 841-5007 and reserve your spot today!
IMPORTANT: Be sure to check out the money-saving coupon at the bottom of this message and how you can save $250 on your WSI Local AdWorks setup fees...

Cool Free 411 Service from Google
When people think of Google they think of the Internet search, right? Well, 800-GOOG-411 is a free service you can use from your cell phone to get information. It's like directory assistance on steroids, and best of all, it's free.
Check out the GOOG-411 site and learn about all the great things you can do. The service can even text message you information automatically and it's all voice-activated (not that I condone doing this while driving, but it's certainly safer than having to type and steer with your knee). You can even have Google send you a map to your Internet-enabled cell phone. How cool!
Give it a try today and let me know what you think. Hopefully this handy service can save you some time next time you're looking for a business or on your way to your next appointment and all you have is your phone handy. Enjoy... |
