Dear Brownstone customers and friends,

2012 is here and we hope you are excited as we are for the opportunities that the new year brings.

For rental property owners or landlords, a new year probably means you are busy planning some changes or improvements to your property. One procedure you might consider this year is requiring renter's insurance. Such a requirement is becoming increasingly popular among landlords and property managers, as it surely protects all parties involved. We've highlighted this consideration in this month's newsletter.

The multi-unit market will be faced with some short-comings to start 2012, but the demographic is also experiencing some positivity in terms of rental statistics. Check out our article to read some interesting facts about associations and rental properties as we enter the new year.

Beginning the year with some preventative maintenance is another great goal for any rental property or condo association, and we are here to help. We've created a simple checklist that can help you determine whether you may have overlooked any  vital steps to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

And lastly, we'd like to recap the results of our 2011 "We Like to Help" campaign. With your support, Brownstone Insurance and SkivieGivie will be donating new undergarments to needy children in the Boston area. Giving back to our community is important to us here at Brownstone, and we look forward to planning our community initiatives for this year!
