Dear Brownstone customers and friends,

Boy are we glad that we sent those hurricane preparation tips in last month's newsletter! While Hurricane Irene was not as treacherous as originally forecast, it did bring high winds and damaging rain to some areas. Even so, Brownstone Insurance received only about a dozen claims as a result of the storm! With the help of Brownstone Insurance, you were prepared.

For those of you still without power, we've included links to power restoration estimates published by NStar and NationalGrid. Our office building was actually without power up until yesterday, but Brownstone had prepared prior to the storm and we were armed with generators and a disaster recovery plan in place to ensure that we could be here to serve our customers following the storm. It was a little uncomfortable working without AC, but we were here for you!

Hurricane Irene is the perfect example of why you should also ensure that you are included in your city or town's Reverse 911 system. This is a service to help prepare citizens for emergency situations or to spread important information quickly. You'll find important information about it by clicking the link below.

Today is also September 1st and you know what that means; move-in day for students! We've included links to some fantastic resources to help students and parents with the big move.
