Dear Believers in North America,

  

The Crescent Moon Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America announces there was no sighting at sunset on Sunday July 31st, 2011. Therefore, Monday August 1st, 2011 will be the final day and the completion of the month of Shaban. Based on that, Tuesday August 2nd, 2011 will be the first of the month of Ramadhan 1432.

 

Note: There have been conflicting reports of witnessing the crescent by the dear believers in California and southern Texas. Some completely denied seeing the crescent, while others claimed to have seen it. Some used a telescope, while others did not. In such circumstances, generally speaking, each person should act in accordance with their religious obligation and personal state of contentment.

 

We ask the Almighty God to bless your work and shower you with His Blessings in this month, and to hasten the appearance of the Imam on our time (peace be upon him.)
