 Tapping Tuesday Happy Hour: Tapping Into Joy with Bronwen Gates - Oct 09, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM - The Tapping Tuesday Happy Hours focus on providing a guided setting where you will use 'meridian tapping', also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Therapies), tapping on specific acupuncture points that have been shown over the last 30 years to provide dramatic relief from pain, stress, addictive patterns, trauma, anxiety, etc. - and also open you up to more Joy in your life. Even though this is a tool you can use very successfully alone, there is such tremendous benefit from practicing this technique in a group that I am offering these drop-in classes. Former Ann Arbor resident and now New York-based singer/songwriter Jared Saltiel synthesizes his eclectic inspirations into one unforgettable songwriting voice. With his latest series of EPs, he combines the mysterious narratives of mid-seventies Dylan with the musical adventurism of Caetano Veloso, displaying a flair for dark, orchestral arrangements and magical storytelling. Jared studied jazz drums while writing Beatles-inflected pop/rock songs on guitar in his teens. Ever the cultural cannibal, he spent a year studying Spanish in Chile, then picked up Portuguese to sing his favorite 60s and 70s MPB songs. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, he's collaborated with pop singer-songwriter Charlene Kaye, brother Jason Saltiel, and Brooklyn's avant-garde punk band Cesspool. As lead singer and songwriter of the Dirty Birds, he released How the Cause Became the Cure in 2009. Joining Jared for an opening set will be local favorite Spencer Michaud. Spencer is a narrative singer-songwriter who uses an elastic tenor voice to cover an incredible range of genres and emotions. He draws upon the ghosts of Motown, Tin-Pan Alley and the folk tradition to create a sound that is both theatrical and sincere. Michaud is a regular performer at the Jeff Buckley Tribute concerts held annually at Uncommon Ground in Chicago, IL. He currently teaches guitar and songwriting in the Ann Arbor area and often plays with his full band.
