Book Signing and Talk with Betsy Adams, author of
The Sacred Body Factories
TOMORROW! Tues, Sept. 18, 7 p.m.
at Crazy Wisdom Tea Room
The Sacred Body Factories and the creations of these eons old arising here in our universe and beyond, are home to our Created Sacred Vessel - our Sacred Body. As Soul, each of us chooses to explore what it is like to be "in" a Sacred Vessel, exploring an Ego field that has as its primary ingredient no longer Feeling the Love We Are. The presentation and sharing will explore the content and creative manifestation of The Sacred Body Factories as well as the consequences of being in a Sacred Vessel with its accommodative Sacred Nodal Energies while "forgetting" who/what we really are.
Free. No pre-registration required.

Mark Jewett & Shannon Linsea
With roots and influences spanning genres too numerous to name, Mark Jewett's musical DNA has taken on the flavors and textures of his favorite writers and performers, resulting in what he likes to call "Music Without Boundaries". Drawing on the melodies, harmonies, rhythms, sonic textures and poignant or humorous lyrics that moved him throughout his life, Mark has found a way to put his thoughts and emotions into his songs in a way that is original, yet comfortable and familiar-feeling. His most recent CD, "Love Has No Heart of Its Own", showcases these talents. You can hear who Mark is in every line, from the heartfelt to the humorous. All of his influences and interests are filtered through his unique and honest slant on life, love, longing and contentment.
With influences similar to Mark's, Shannon Linsea has enjoyed singing and performing music in various Michigan venues as a solo performer, with groups of friends and with the band "Wellfire". Since forming a duo with Mark in May 2012, the pair has achieved a comfortable blend that will carry them into a promising future of original recording and performing.

Judy Insley & Floyd Raeon
Come help us celebrate Judy's birthday! Judy Insley and Floyd Raeon (pronounced "rayon") are two veteran Michigan musicians who have combined their musical talents in a unique blend of original music and songs by other select writers. The duo provides a listening experience of pure acoustic music enriched by the variety of stringed instruments they employ. Intricately woven guitar arrangements, fun banjo/guitar romps, and melodic guitar/mandolin textures are the fabrics of their sound. They share lead and harmony vocal responsibilities and perform contemporary acoustic music with an occasional twinge of bluegrass. www.judyinsley.com

My Heart Is an Idiot: Essays (Hardcover) By Davy Rothbart List Price: $25.00
Our Price: $17.50
(Save: $7.50 30%)
Davy Rothbart is looking for love in all the wrong places. Constantly. He falls helplessly in love with pretty much every girl he meets-and rarely is the feeling reciprocated. Time after time, he hops in a car and tears across half of America with his heart on his sleeve. He's continually coming up with outrageous schemes, which he always manages to pull off. Well, almost always. But even when things don't work out, Rothbart finds meaning and humor in every moment. Whether it's humiliating a scammer who takes money from aspiring writers or playing harmless (but side-splitting) goofs on his deaf mother, nothing and no one is off-limits. But as much as Rothbart is a tragically lovable, irresistibly brokenhearted hero, it's his prose that's the star of the book. In the tradition of David Sedaris and Sloane Crosley but going places very much his own, his essays show how things that are seemingly so wrong can be so, so right.
