Book Signing and Talk with Betsy Adams, author of
The Sacred Body Factories
Tues, Sept. 18, 7 p.m.
at Crazy Wisdom Tea Room
The Sacred Body Factories and the creations of these eons old arising here in our universe and beyond, are home to our Created Sacred Vessel - our Sacred Body. As Soul, each of us chooses to explore what it is like to be "in" a Sacred Vessel, exploring an Ego field that has as its primary ingredient no longer Feeling the Love We Are. The presentation and sharing will explore the content and creative manifestation of The Sacred Body Factories as well as the consequences of being in a Sacred Vessel with its accommodative Sacred Nodal Energies while "forgetting" who/what we really are.
Free. No pre-registration required.

Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation
(Paperback)
By Norman E Rosenthal, Mehmet C. Oz
List Price: $15.95
Our Price: $11.17
(Save: $4.79 30%)
In this definitive book on the scientifically proven health and stress-relieving benefits of Transcendental Meditation, a renowned psychiatrist and researcher explores why TM works, what it can do for you, and how to use it for maximum effect.
Norman E. Rosenthal, M.D., a twenty-year researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health and the celebrated psychiatrist who pioneered the study and treatment of Season Affective Disorder (SAD), brings us the most important work on Transcendental Meditation since the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Science of Being and Art of Living-- and one of our generation's most significant books on achieving greater physical and mental health and wellness.
Transcendence demystifies the practice and benefits of Transcendental Meditation for a general audience who may have heard about the method but do not necessarily know what it is, how it is learned, or what they stand to gain, physically and emotionally, from achieving transcendence. Dr. Rosenthal clearly and practically explains the basic ideas behind Transcendental Meditation: It is a nonreligious practice that involves sitting comfortably for twenty minutes twice a day while using a silent mantra, or nonverbal sound, to attain a profound state of aware relaxation.
Alongside exclusive celebrity interviews-where figures like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Martin Scorsese, Russell Brand, Laura Dern, Moby, and David Lynch openly discuss their meditation-Dr. Rosenthal draws upon experience from the lives of his patients and a wealth of clinical research amassed on TM over the past generation (340 peer-reviewed published articles). He provides the fullest and most accessible book ever on the broad range of benefits of this remarkably simple practice, from relief of anxiety, stress and depression to new hope for those experiencing addiction, attention-deficit disorder, or post-traumatic stress disorder.
And Live Rejoicing: Chapters from a Charmed Life -- Personal Encounters with Spiritual Mavericks, Remarkable Seekers, and the World's Great Religious Leaders
(Paperback)
By Huston Smith, Phil Cousineau
List Price: $15.95
Our Price: $11.17
(Save: $4.79 30%)
At age 92, spiritual trailblazer Huston Smith takes readers behind the scenes of his near century of adventurous seeking. Born to missionaries in China in 1919, few have done as much as Smith to explore and share the worlds religious and spiritual traditions - and none have done so with such accessibility, wonder, and delight. Here, in the company of avid fellow seeker Phil Cousineau, Smith looks back on his extraordinary life, describing riveting scenes from around the world (from small town revival meetings in the rural Midwest and Native American sweat lodges to India, Africa, Tibet, and Japan) and magical encounters with unforgettable characters (including Pete Seeger, Martin Luther King Jr, AA cofounder Bill Wilson, Joseph Campbell, and Reuben Snake). He also - with undiminished enthusiasm and eloquence - looks forward, inspiring readers to not just seize the day, but seize it rejoicingly.
The Man Who Never Died: The Life, Times, and Legacy of Joe Hill, American Labor Icon (Paperback) By William M. Adler List Price: $18.00
Our Price: $12.60
(Save: $5.40 30%)
In 1914, Joe Hill, the prolific songwriter for the Industrial Workers of the World (also known as the Wobblies), was convicted of murder in Utah and sentenced to death by firing squad, igniting international controversy. In the first major biography of the radical historical icon, William M. Adler explores an extraordinary life and presents persuasive evidence of Hill's innocence. Hill would become organized labor's most venerated martyr, and a hero to folk singers such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. His story shines a beacon on the early-twentieth-century American experience and exposes the roots of issues critical to the twenty-first century. |
