List Price: $14.99
Our Price: $10.49
(Save: $4.50 30%)

"Why do you always have to be at me about stuff when I'm in the middle of doing something?"
"You don't have to yell at me! Everything has to be exactly when you want it! I hate this house!"
Is there any aspect of parenting more frustrating than when even the simplest conversation with your teenager quickly deteriorates into a take-no-prisoners war? Bestselling author Anthony E. Wolf sympathizes, and in his new book he provides hope, humor, and practical tips for dealing with the everyday challenges of raising teens in the twenty-first century.
I'd Listen to My Parents if They'd Just Shut Up will help you understand who your teenagers really are under all the attitude, and what new rules apply to successfully communicating with them in today's constantly evolving world of the Internet, electronics, and social media. A book designed to make life with your teenage child a significantly more enjoyable experience, I'd Listen to My Parents if They'd Just Shut Up offers specific scenarios to illustrate which responses will work and which ones are doomed to failure the next time your thirteen-to-nineteen-year-old refuses to listen or won't take "no" for an answer.

In the Company of Rilke: Why a 20th-Century Visionary Poet Speaks So Eloquently to 21st-Century Readers (Paperback)
By Stephanie Dowrick
List Price: $24.95
Our Price: $17.47
(Save: $7.49 30%)

Connecting to your inner life through the transformative poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.
In the Company of Rilke is a rare book about a rare poet. Rainer Maria Rilke was a giant of twentieth-century writing who remains a visionary voice for our own time, captivating readers not only with his brilliance but also his fearlessness about the "deepest things." Speaking through his own contradictions and ambivalences, he gives readers a profound understanding of the complex beauty of human existence.
Here, questions matter more than answers. Here, a poet can speak directly to God while also doubting God. Astonishingly, this is the first major study of Rilke from a spiritual perspective, even though the greatest of Rilke' s gifts was to show how inevitably life centers upon a profound mystery-to which we can freely open ourselves.
Drawing on her deep understanding of the gifts of Rilke's writings, as well as her own personal spiritual seeking, Stephanie Dowrick offers an intimate and accessible appreciation of this most exceptional poet and his transcendent work.

Vultures' Picnic: In Pursuit of Petroleum Pigs, Power Pirates, and High-Finance Carnivores (Hardcover)
By Greg Palast
List Price: $26.95
Our Price: $18.87
(Save: $8.09 30%)

The New York Times bestselling author of Armed Madhouse offers a globetrotting, Sam Spade-style investigation that blows the lid off the oil industry, the banking industry, and the governmental agencies that aren't regulating either.
This is the story of the corporate vultures that feed on the weak and ruin our planet in the process-a story that spans the globe and decades.
For Vultures' Picnic, investigative journalist Greg Palast has spent his career uncovering the connection between the world of energy (read: oil) and finance. He's built a team that reads like a casting call for a Hollywood thriller-a Swiss multilingual investigator, a punk journalist, and a gonzo cameraman-to reveal how environmental disasters like the Gulf oil spill, the Exxon Valdez, and lesser-known tragedies such as Tatitlek and Torrey Canyon are caused by corporate corruption, failed legislation, and, most interestingly, veiled connections between the financial industry and energy titans. Palast shows how the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, World Trade Organization, and Central Banks act as puppets for Big Oil.
With Palast at the center of an investigation that takes us from the Arctic to Africa to the Amazon, Vultures' Picnic shows how the big powers in the money and oil game slip the bonds of regulation over and over again, and simply destroy the rules that they themselves can't write-and take advantage of nations and everyday people in the process.
