Hello Market Shoppers! It looks like we will have a beautiful day at the market this Saturday with temperatures in the low 80s. We have a great lineup of farmers this week. Jacks Farm is back from vacation, Quaff Meadows Farm will bring pasture raised, grass fed lamb and Forks Farm will be bringing lots of beef! Fruits and vegetables are so plentiful this week. There is nothing like a vine ripened tomato or a juicy peach that ripened on the tree. It's easy to eat healthy food when it is so delicious!
If you haven't been to the market for a few weeks, then you may not know that we now have a FOOD TRUCK at the market! Not just any food truck, but the Sunflower Truck Stop. Owner and chef George Beiber, buys food at the market and then cooks it up right on site! You can taste the food and then buy some of the ingredients he used from your favorite farmers and bakers.
Those of you who read the entire newsletter last week probably think that WILD for Salmon is coming this week, but they are NOT. Literally 5 minutes after I sent last week's newsletter, Jenn Kurian from WILD for Salmon emailed to say that their first market will be September 1st. They had planned to start in August, but their barge was delayed in Alaska. We'll have to wait a few weeks for salmon.
Phoenixville Hospital will be at the market this week to give free blood pressure screenings. Be sure to stop by their table!
See you at the market! Liz Andersen
