Hello Market Shoppers!

It feels almost like spring today, but we have our next Winter Market at Phoenixville this coming Saturday, February 11th, from 10am to noon.  You will find all of the producers set up together in the upper section of the Market in the gravel area. We have lots of special producers here this week with Valentines goodies ranging from gelato cakes, popsicles, chocolates, candles, jewelry and more.

The weather may be cold, but don't let that stop you from bundling up and coming out to get your great LOCAL food. Artisans Cafe will have lots of great hot drinks to warm you up, Pureblend Tea will have hot matcha teas, and St. Peters' Bakery will have hot soup.  Speaking of cold weather, the Joy of Sox will join us to collect socks for the homeless.  Below is information they sent to us:

This Valentine's Day, do something that will warm your heart and help the homeless this winter...

In honor of National Socks for the Homeless Day (2/14), we hope you will come out and see us at the Winter Market at the Phoenixville Farmer's Market!

In November, the Phoenixville community came together and donated over 700 pairs of socks and $100 to The Joy of Sox. Let's see if we can't at least repeat that success and share some warmth with our homeless brothers and sisters this winter. This is a dangerous time of year as the temperatures drop steeply and windy and wet weather pose health risks for the homeless. Please note that our local Good Samaritan Shelter is a recipient of The Joy of Sox, so your support is critical!

NEW SOCKS ONLY -- The Joy of Sox does not have the facilities to clean and store even gently used socks, so please donate only new socks with tags. The best bet are the thick, white crew socks that are usually sold in multi-packs.

The Joy of Sox is a 501(c)(3) organization that has a simple mission: to provide socks for the homeless. They also strive to raise awareness of the plight of the homeless and the health problems that can be mitigated by something as basic as a pair of new socks. www.thejoyofsox.org

Many of our producers take pre-orders for this market and Backyard Bison sells by pre-order only.  If you don't want to miss your favorite goodie, please read each producer's listing below.

Don't forget to read this email to see what is available, make your list, contact the farmers to place your orders, and then come to our regular location between 10 am and noon on Saturday to pick up your delicious, local food.  You might even see your neighbors and market friends!

Helpful Hint:  This newsletter is packed with information.  You can click on a vendor's name on the sidebar to go directly to his or her product list.

Please forward this email to friends and family that you think may be interested in signing up for our email list so they can participate in our special Winter Markets. (There is a link all the way at the bottom of the email to forward it -- thanks!)

See you at the Market!!

Rosemarie Holck

Artisans plans to be there on Saturday to help warm you up a bit while you shop.  Along with our quiche & scones, we will bring our house coffee & hot chocolate.  And don't forget to try something new, a blended "Mocha" .  It's our house coffee with a splash of our  our custom blended hot chocolate.  Delicious! This week's featured coffee is OVC's Smart Blend which is the oldest coffee blend around - Mocha-Java.  This coffee originated in Ethiopia, and left the port of Mocca towards Indonesia where it was mostly grown on the Isle of Java.  The Smart Blend is a fresh look at this classic blend.  A medium-dark roast makes this blend full-bodied.

 Valentine's Day Special....

Artisans Gallery & Café has joined with the Phoenixville Area Children's Learning Center to create a unique Valentine gift for that "special someone".  Gift baskets include mug, One Village Coffee or Harney & Sons teas, Artisans Gift Card, cookies & candy plus a special "heart" created by the children will be available at the market this weekend. The cost is $25.00 with all proceeds going to the Learning Center.

Moonflower Jewelry
Jen Brower

The name Moonflower Jewelry came to Jen Brower quite naturally. She was always intrigued by the beautiful large white flowers that grow on the moonflower vine. When these flowers open for the night, they appear to glow in the moonlight with an iridescent quality that brings the night world alive. One doesn't expect to find flowers blooming so vibrantly at night.
This process mirrors her nightly experience in her studio. It too blooms throughout the evening hours where her mind is opened and she is free to explore and create the endless possibilities of her work. Her world is transformed and she finda unexpected beauty through her creations. Like the moonflower, this special time fades with the morning light only to be replaced again the following evening.

Tonya Lov
Tonya Perry

Tonya Lov Jewelry began in the workshop of Tonya Perri, an artisan whose interests in abstract painting and sculpture blossomed into an innovative jewelry-making technique.

Tonya's love for color and three dimensional art initiated her innovative approach to jewelry fabrication. Experimenting with hand-poured porcelain and pigments has developed her distinct style of bead-making. Further experiments with sterling silver and 14k gold ceramic over glaze soon became Tonya's signature style.
