Hello Market Shoppers!
It feels almost like spring today, but we have our next Winter Market at Phoenixville this coming Saturday, January 28th, from 10am to noon. You will find all of the producers set up together in the upper section of the Market in the gravel area. The weather may not be as lovely as it is now, but don't let that stop you from bundling up and coming out to get your great LOCAL food. Artisans Cafe will have lots of great hot drinks to warm you up, Pureblend Tea will have hot matcha teas, and St. Peters' Bakery will have hot soup.
Many of our producers take pre-orders for this market and Backyard Bison sells by pre-order only. If you don't want to miss your favorite goodie, please read each producer's listing below.
WILD for Salmon has a new product this week- smoked salmon ravioli-yum! And Oley Valley Mushroom sent a great recipe for mushroom stroganoff, perfect for a winter night.
After you leave the Market on Saturday, you can head over to Peoples' Light and Theatre in Malvern to hear our very own Baues' Busy Bees at a panel discussion entitled "To Bee or not to Bee" which is being given between 2 performances of the play Fallow in which beekeeping plays a role. You can read more about the talk here.
Our next Winter Market will be on February 11th, just a few days before Valentines' Day. We have the following message from Jenny and Frank's Artisan Gelato about special Valentines' cakes they are making:
While Jenny and Frank's Artisan Gelato is on a brief hiatus from the Winter Markets, we are still busy creating wonderful new products and flavors for you.
We are proud to announce Valentine's Day pre-orders for our newest product: Heart-shaped Gelato Cakes! The cakes are the perfect size for two (36 oz.), along with plenty for seconds (or to share with the kids). Please see our website (www.jennyandfranksartisan.com) for details, flavors, and pricing. The cakes will be custom-made and ready for pick-up at the 11 February Farmers' Market. Ciao!
Also joining us on February 11th will be Neil's Sharpening Service, Forks Farm and jewelery makers Tonya Perri and Jen Brower. The non-profit, Joy of Socks will also return on February 11th to collect pairs of new socks for the homeless. Look for more information about this and more in our next newsletter.
Don't forget to read this email to see what is available, make your list, contact the farmers to place your orders, and then come to our regular location between 10 am and noon on Saturday to pick up your delicious, local food. You might even see your neighbors and market friends!
Helpful Hint: This newsletter is packed with information. You can click on a vendor's name on the sidebar to go directly to his or her product list.
Please forward this email to friends and family that you think may be interested in signing up for our email list so they can participate in our special Winter Markets. (There is a link all the way at the bottom of the email to forward it -- thanks!)
See you at the Market!!

Artisans' Cafe Rosemarie Holck
Artisans plans to be there for all the Winter Markets to help warm you up a bit while you shop. Along with our quiche & scones, we will bring our coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider! In addition, why not try something new for the New Year, sweeten your coffee by making it a "mocha" by adding our custom blended hot chocolate.
This week's featured coffee is French Roast blend. Beans from Indonesia and Central America are just the right mix for this darker roast. The Indonesian coffee lends itself to a deep syrupy body, dark chocolate notes, and a hint of black pepper. The Central American coffee brings smoothness as well as hints of vanilla and a subtle sweetness to the blend. In the cup, all of these flavors come together harmoniously to bring you a delicious dark roast cup of coffee-yum! Special for the Winter Markets.....if you purchase a 12 oz. bag of our featured coffee, you will receive 2 punches on your Coffee Club Card.

We will be at the market on the 28th and will have a bounty of good eats on board. We are busy enlarging the kitchen at the Mountain View Farm Store so we can offer even more delicious entrees in the future. In the meantime, we have been working on two new products. Turkey, chicken and duck jerky and sea salt infused with many different wonderful flavors. Just to name a few of the salts: Vintage Merlot, Spicy Curry, Chipotle, Lemon Twist, Vanilla Bean, Espresso Brava, Aged Balsamic and Sun Ripened Tomato. You'll have to try some to see what I mean.
