Hello Market Shoppers!
If you are looking to buy some local presents in an enjoyable and very festive setting, you won't want to miss this week's Holiday Market on December 17th! The Hytha family will sing Christmas carols and Marvin Andersen will play carols on his trumpet. The music will warm your spirits as you shop in the brisk fresh air. Also, although we are having a special mini-market on Christmas Eve, most of our farmers and artisans will not return until our first Winter Market on January 14th. Be sure to stock up on your favorite foods!
This week we have a new guest at the market- Neil's Sharpening Service! Bring your knives and clippers on Saturday and Neil will sharpen them on the spot. It's a great way to get ready for all of the chopping required to cook great holiday dinners with local food. Carving a turkey or roast will be simple with a sharp knife. Neil also sharpens clippers.
Great artists and food producers will be with us as well, including WILD for Salmon, Paradocx Vineyard, and Ridge valley Farm who makes LOCAL maple syrup!
Don't hesitate to bring your little ones to the Market. Bundle them up and come on down to the children's area which will be stocked with toys and books.
Remember, we will also have a very special Christmas Eve Mini-Market on December 24th from 10am to noon!

Artisans Cafe
Artisans Gallery & Cafe wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! For the holiday season, don't forget to stock up on our One Village Artisans House Blend. It makes a perfect gift!. Put it together with a handmade mug from local artists and a Gift Card from Artisans and you have a great gift for the office Grap Bag or a co-worker.
To help with your holiday meal preparations, we will be taking orders on our whole quiche pies. To order, you can fill out an order form at the Market which list all the varieties available or you can send an email to rosemarie@artisansgalley-cafe.com by the Wednesday prior to the market. Varieties available - Roasted Vegetable, Lorraine-Bacon and Onion, Italian Vegetable, Spinach & Mushroom, Roasted Red Peppers, Broccoli & Cheddar, Tomato Bacon & Cheddar, Spinach & Mushroom, Asparagus Cheddar, Ham & Broccoli, Spinach Lorraine.
Backyard Bison
Bison is great for holiday meals. Stop by my stand to ask for recipes and suggestions.
I am offering whole Bison Tenderloins at the restaurant price of $25 per pound. These vary from about 4.5 to 7 pounds each. These will be on a pre-order basis. If you want one of these, just let me know about what size you would like, and let me know by 7:00 pm on the Friday night before the Saturday when you want it. Baues' Busy Bees
We'll have an assortment of candles, tapers in all colors, Christmas Trees in two sizes, snowmen and Santa and pillars.
This week we also have gifts packaged priced from $10.75 to $14.75 ready for pickup
Candles make a great gift. We have many items under $10.00 that make great Teacher's gift. Honey, soap, beeswax creams, lotion and balms great protection for your skin and they also make a great gift.
We'll have raw honey in various size jars, and bee pollen.

Our cheeses make quick and easy appetizers to take a long to a Holiday party or to serve for a family gathering. They are also welcome hostess gifts. At this busy time of the year, here are a few quick and easy dinners ideas from Birchrun Hills Farm...
