Market Photo of the Week

      Cindy with rabbit

One of the highlights of last week's market was seeing Cindy Pierson, of Angel's Wool Farm, spin yarn with her angora bunny on her lap!

Hello Market Shoppers!

It looks like the weather will be beautiful for our annual Oktoberfest celebration on October 8th.

Of course we will have  pumpkins, apple cider and LOTS of apples, including many unique varieties such as Florina and Razor Russet.  In addition to their usual mushrooms, this week Oley Valley will bring watercress, perfect in a salad or on a sandwich.  Jenny and Frank's Artisan Gelatoe returns with their first sorbet, Pera con Midori sorbetto (Pear with Midori).   Kimberton Waldorf school will have a seasonal craft activity for the children down by the market table.

Many artists will be at the market this week selling a variety of unique items ranging from wooden bowls, hand woven baskets, table linens, jewelry and painted crocks.

The Joe Hilman Band will entertain us with their great bluegrass music.  Come on down to the market to buy some great LOCAL food, visit with neighbors and friends and celebrate the bounty of the fall!

See you at the Market!

News from our Producers

Aritsans Gallery & Cafe:

It's Autumn, which means hayrides, scarecrows and time for a new seasonal coffee to celebrate the glories of Fall. Harvest Blend is a complex blend of Indonesian, Central American and Indian coffees, roasted to a light Vienna (medium dark). The spice and smoke in the aroma and its syrupy body make the Harvest Blend a perfect accompaniment to the more robust dishes we enjoy this time of year. So have a cup of this unique coffee while it lasts.  Since the forcast for the weekend looks good, we will also bring our iced beverages.

October's Artist of the Month exhibit will be featuring Artwork form the Public Eye. The Public Eye is a Philadelphia-area group that produces public events featuring the arts. They focus on the interactions between human and nonhuman animals in order to shed light on hidden or ignored injustices and to promote a cruelty-free lifestyle. Public Eye is a project of Mobilization for Animals (PA), a 501C3 nonprofit organization. Join us for the Exhibit Opening on First Friday and  enjoy tasty vegan food provided by Allison Geiger & Veg-N-Go. The exhibit opens October 7th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm and runs through to October 31st.

Oley Valley Farm:

We have something new!  In addition to our regular mushrooms, this week we will have watercress.

Shellbark Hollow Farm:

We have ten flavored chevres-  try the Honey on an Asian Pear or apple.  The Plain Chevre Spread is great on a nice slice of pumpkin or spice bread and the Peppercorn  Melange is delicious on beef or turkey burgers. The Provencal spread pairs well with marinated grilled portobella mushrooms. .  Pete's special aged cheeses are going fast- once they are gone it will be another one to 2 years before we will have anything like them.  Stop by and ask Jamie for a sample.
