Frecon Farms:

Looking forward to joining you all this weekend with Hard cider and fruit wines made with Frecon fruit.

The Crabby Granny

Strong bottle conditioned dry cider flavored with Granny Smith and crab apples. Wildflower and clover honey blend with a mix of Frecon cider apples to provide a pleasant tartness and smooth finish. (available June 4)

The Early Man

Early maturing heirloom apples like McIntosh & Gravenstein twist up this strong, bottle conditioned sparkling New England style cider. This baby proudly preserves the last notes of summer. Light, yet full bodied enough for another round! (available May 7)

The Hogshead

Our strongest bottle conditioned sparkling New England style cider flavored with full blushed red Stayman Winesap & classic cider apples. Fortified with brown sugar and raisins, matured in oak. (available June 4)

Frecon Cider

With the ciders being both dry and carbonated, we're thinking that pairing these babies with some of the richer cheeses from Shellbark & Birchrun.

The Hogshead is full-bodied enough that it would go well with to John and Kirra's chocolates.

The apple wine + peach wine are pretty sweet, but both have the dryness of a white wine.

Baues' Busy Bees:

Try our honey over some walnuts with Birchrun Hill Blue cheese for a great appetizers to pair with a dessert wine or with a fruity white wine

We're bringing our honey in 8 oz. bears, 12 oz. bears, 1 pound screw top and flip top jars, 2 1/2 pound jars and glass bears filled with honey that make a great gift and we'll wrap the gift for free.

Don't forget our lip balms to protect your lips in this heat and bees wax has a natural SPF of 15.  We'll also have all our creams and lotions made with bees wax along with our hand made honey soap.

Pure Blend Tea:

We are bringing a great tea for making Sangria!

Check out the recipe in the recipe section of this newsletter.

North Star Orchard:

We'll have: Lettuce, tatsoi, Swiss chard, arugula, a few broccoli, beets, kohlrabi, onions, kale, garlic scallions, plus our processed fruit butters and applesauce.

Gee, could we pair wine with garlic scallions?? Hard cider with kohlrabi?

Jack's Farm:

JACK will have beans, peas, asparagus, garlic scapes lettuce and more! Herbs and potted fruit trees. All USDA Certified Organic.

Mountain View Farm:

White wine is a natural pairing with my chicken. Cooking with, marinating with, or drinking it with your meal! I'll have plenty of my wonderful eggs, poultry, & delicious chicken pies. I'll be lacking in the sausage department this week. With my injured hand everything takes so much longer to do.

Sidestitch by Ginny:

It's almost summer. Time for a new skirt! Here is a version of Side Stitch by Ginny's Claire skirt looking like it belongs in the garden. All it needs is a glass of wine.... and you! This one is done in Amy Butler's Soul Blossoms charm pack with Twilight Peony as the coordinating fabric.

Charlestown Farm:

We will have beautiful Lilly bouquets, as well as carrots, radishes, head lettuce, spinach, chard, perpetual spinach, spring garlic, lettuce mix, and much more.  We'll also have a large selection of cherry, heirloom, and hybrid tomato plants.

LOST Gourmet

The market is getting more lush with new produce coming into season each week! This week, Chef Olga brings a recipe that she learned while studying in Thailand, Thai Green Curry Chicken. YUM!  Plus, with all the greens and veggies coming into season, what better way to finish them then with a Strawberry Rhubarb Vinaigrette. This week we're also offering a beverage, rhubarb ginger shrub. This colonial fruit vinegar cordial is a great summer refresher.

Hello Market Shoppers!

It looks like the weather will be a perfect for a morning visit to the market as we celebrate Pennsylvania Wine AND Hard Cider! Paradocx Vineyard will return with their great local wines, including their clever "paint" cans of "Barn Red, Whitewash and Pail Pink."  This week we will also welcome Frecon Farms who will bring hard cider made from their apples as well as fruit wines- yum! We asked our farmers for ideas about pairing their products with wine.  You can see their replies to the left in the News from our farmers & artisans section.

We also have great Jazz music to go with wine.  Kevin MacConnell will return to the market for a special performance.  Be sure to take a moment to enjoy it!

This week we will have kids yoga from 9am to 11am courtesy of Denise Orsulak and Ocean Earth Wind Fire Studio.  Bring your little ones for some fun stretching and exercise.

If you missed buying one of the adorable aprons from Sidestich by Ginny in May, she'll be back this weekend.

See you at the Market!
