Hello Market Shoppers!

If you want to trick or treat, Phoenixville's the place to meet!  Start your trick or treating early at the market information area (in costume, of course!) then venture on to downtown Phoenixville where from 1-3 you can trick or treat at participating local businesses!

We have a LOT going on this week at the market, be sure not to miss the Halloween Walk along the French Creek Trail to learn creepy ecofacts.
Keighley Young is raising money for a Girl Scouts trip with her troop to England, France and Switzerland in summer 2012 and will be leading a shoe lace tie dying activity in the kids area.
The Country Garden Guild at Melmark  will be guest producers at the market this week.  They are a local organization for people with special needs that garden and create lovely crafts from the flowers that they have grown.

You will notice when you arrive at the market that things look a little different.  We cleared more space along the French Creek Trail in order to make accessing some of your favorite producers easier and Backyard Bison will now be located in the upper area next to Mountain View Poultry.

  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Saute the onions in the butter for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and saute for 5 more minutes. Stir in the dill, paprika, soy sauce and broth. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.

In a separate small bowl, whisk the milk and flour together. Pour this into the soup and stir well to blend. Cover and simmer for 15 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finally, stir in the salt, ground black pepper, lemon juice, parsley and sour cream. Mix together and allow to heat through over low heat, about 3 to 5 minutes. Do not boil. Serve immediately.
