Hello Market Shoppers!
It looks like Saturday is going to be HOT, but we will have lots of COOL SHADE under the Gay Street Bridge! The good news is that all of this heat has helped the summer fruits and vegetables to ripen earlier than usual. This week we will have peaches, blackberries, corn and lots of tomatoes in addition to lots of other seasonal produce. And of course we will have zucchinis! In honor of this prolific vegetable, we will float zucanoes in the children's area and local cookbook author, Lisa Montgomery will show us how to make zucchini spaghetti! You can check out the recipe below.
Our farmers have so much delicious farm fresh produce at this time of the year. Please invite your friends and neighbors to come on down and see what we have to offer!
Don't forget to enter our raffle to win a basket of items donated by our producers. You can enter one time per week and we will draw a winner at the end of the Market next week. Items in the basket this month are:
Fresh Produce from North Star Orchard Cookies from Marci's Morsels Goat Cheese Spread from Shellbark Hollow Farm Cheese from Birchrun Hills Farm 4-pack of ICED by Betsy cupcakes Bars of Soap from Soap by Pat A full hour body massage with Susan Maddon Cox from Ocean Earth Wind Fire
Ridge Valley Farm had planned to come to the Market tomorrow, but will not be able to attend. They will return on August 28th.

Paradocx Wine in a Can | Producer of the Week Paradocx Vineyard, nestled among the rolling hills of southern
Chester County, Pennsylvania, combines current technology and
handcrafted secrets to create unique wines, made from homegrown grapes,
and from those of only selected custom growers.
Moderating influences of the Chesapeake and Delaware bays and the
southern sloping mica soils afford Paradocx a unique mesoclimate in the
region. This mesoclimate coupled with state-of-the-art viticulture
practices, create a winning combination for this 5,000 case winery. The
owners and management of Paradocx Vineyard, who share a fervent passion
for winemaking, adhere to the principle that winemaking begins with
success in the vineyard.
With over 100 acres of land, 30 of which are under vine, Paradocx's
home vineyard in Landenberg, Pennsylvania offers an array of grapes for
head winemaker Dave Hoffman to choose from, including 27 acres of
vinifera vines and 3 acres of Chambourcin and Vidal vines. By providing
only the finest grapes that our site has to offer, we are able to
afford our winemaker with the best possible start for a quality wine in
the bottle.
Paradocx Vineyard is owned and operated by the Hoffman and Harris
Families. The name of the winery is a play on words, as the four
principles are practicing physicians (Pair of Docs). In addition to a
full-time staff, members of both families and committed friends tend to
make the winery a successful venture.
Stop by their stand this week to sample their superb local wines!
