What's New....
Birchrun on a Roll- Ruth Statt of Chester Springs will take her cousin's
prized sausages on the road! Birchrun On A Roll features the bounty of Birchrun Hills Farm and
local Chester County producers. Committed to bringing the finest from
sustainable family farms and artisans to you, this mobile food cart will
feature a variety of "good food" such as delicious franks, bockwurst
and Italian sweet & hot sausages, and egg salad sammies using the
eggs from the farm chickens.
As the season progresses, there will be sides using the vegetables
grown from other local producers. Besides sauteed peppers and
caramelized onions for toppings, the condiment table will include other
goodies like Country Time Farm's Mango Tango BBQ Sauce. Drinks and chips
will also be available. Forks Farm- The
Hopkins family raises 100% grass fed beef & lamb, woodlot pork,
pastured poultry and free range eggs. Their beef is available by the
cut at market and other foods available by pre-order at forksfarmmarket.com. (Also, did you know that Forks Farm has campsites that are really close to Knoebels? Several of our market shoppers will be there this weekend!).
Hoagland Farm- will have pork products, honey, asparagus, rhubarb and onions.
Penns Woods Winery- Gino Razzi's wine makes its premier at the market! After years of importing wine from Italy, the Italian native decided to pursue perfection here in the states and discovered that great wines can be made here in PA! A decade later, the results of his craft are finally available at the market.
Wild for Salmon- will have some portioned fillets, feta dill burgers, and some smoked salmon spread to get you through the summer grilling season. Now is the time to stock up for summer. Because the salmon fishing season runs through June and July, they will be unable to attend the market again until mid-August.
Yokibics- Throughout her career, Gael Chiarella
Alba, renowned yoga therapist and spoken word artist, has been assisting
people in finding health, happiness and an authentic relationship with
their lives through the development of practical insights and simple
strategies. At the market, Gael will be offering her meditation cds, including her Conscious Eating cd. Please check out her link to learn more.

Hello Market Shoppers!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last week, we had a great turnout for our opening day! As a result, many of our producers sold out early and they promise to bring more this week.
This Saturday is the Dogwood parade, which start after the market at 1:00. Our market will still take place in its normal location and can be accessed from our regular entrance at Taylor Alley, despite the road closure on Bridge St at 11:00.
At the market this week, we are welcoming several new producers that we are VERY excited about. Check out the What's New sidebar to read more about Birchrun on a Roll, Penns Woods Winery, and Yokibics.
Also, we just recently found out that Wild for Salmon has a very limited supply left and they are bringing it this Saturday. It will definitely be their last visit before they head to their boat! Baues' Bees will not be at the market this week, but they will be available to make deliveries if any one needs something!
Last week many of you parked in the free lot by the District Court Building at 347 Bridge Street and then lugged your groceries back to your cars. This week we will have a "pick up area" along Mill Street under the bridge where you can drop your groceries and then pick them up as you drive through. There are some metered parking spots and some resident spots near the Market. Please read the signs to make sure you are parking in the right place. Also, there is new striping in our old lot. Please park within the lines, according the the layout that the Parking Authority delineated. Thank you!
If you have not heard about it already, Phoenixville has a recently formed Green Team whose mission is to build awareness in Phoenixville and surrounding
communities on how to "live green". On Saturday they are sponsoring a "May Day French Creek Stream Clean Up" from 9am to noon and welcome volunteers. They are meeting at the back of the K-Mart parking lot. Since the Market is open until 1pm, you can lend a hand cleaning up the stream and still buy your favorite goodies afterward! You can read more about the Stream Cleanup here.
We hope to see you at the Market!!!

Artisans
Gallery & Café, the winner of the "2009 MyFoxPhilly's Best Café" award,
returns for their fourth year as a provider to the Phoenixville Farmer's
Market. Owners, Richard and Rosemarie
Holck, bring to the market not only their delicious coffees, teas, Nantucket juices, and water, but also a tantalizing array of quiches, sandwiches, salads, soups, and hummus. Their selections are produced locally, use
only the finest ingredients, and are varied from week to week. One Village Coffee located in Souderton,
roasts all their coffee, including the Artisans Gallery & Café's exclusive
"Artisan's Blend." All varieties, in 1

As
Rosemarie explains, Artisans Gallery & Café was started "to create a gathering place that
encompassed both (her) Sicilian passion for having a warm and friendly
atmosphere where friends could come relax, and enjoy coffee/espresso and lots
of homemade dishes and, of course, Italian pastries. Richard's desire was to expose the community
to the artist living right in their neighborhood." Combining both passions gave birth to
Artisans Gallery and Café. They opened
their doors on Bridge Street
on May 5th, 2006.
Artisans
Gallery & Café exhibits works by artists from Phoenixville and the
surrounding area, many of whom are from the Chester Springs Studio at Yellow
Springs. This month's "Artist of the
Month" is Jose Juico presenting his "The Art of Ikebana."
The
Holcks serve the community not only with their delicious food and drink, but by
working with PACS (Phoenixville Area Community Services, a non-profit agency www.pacsphx.org) to host the Annual Empty Bowl event and the Gingerbread House competition.
