Hello Market Shoppers,

Here we are with the first market of August and lucky for us, it looks like it will be a sunny day!
The sweet corn, stone fruit, eggplants, squash, and beans are coming on strong, just to name a few. We have seen a lot of red tomatoes over the past couple weeks too!
Quarryville Orchards will be here and Baues' Busy Bees and  Soaps By Pat will be back this weekend.
Also, you can stop by and see some baby chicks information/kids area.

pancetta and peaches
Recipe

Pancetta-Wrapped Peaches with Basil and Aged Balsamic

Ingredients

16 thin slices of pancetta (from Country Time Farm)
2 medium peaches-halved (available from a variety of farmers), pitted and cut into 8 wedges each
Salt and freshly ground pepper
16 basil leaves (available from a variety of farmers)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Aged balsamic vinegar, for drizzling

Directions

Lay the pancetta slices out on a work surface. Set a peach wedge at the edge of each slice, season with salt and pepper and top with a basil leaf. Roll up the pancetta to enclose the peaches.
In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil. Add half of the wrapped peaches and cook over moderate heat, turning occasionally, until the pancetta is browned and crisp, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a platter and repeat with the remaining peaches.
Lightly drizzle the peaches with aged balsamic vinegar and serve. This recipe and many other delicious peach recipes can be found at Food and Wine
