More about Almost Meatless:  More than 60 satisfying recipes that emphasize smaller quantities of high-quality meat without sacrificing flavor and protein.
Today's conscientious carnivores are looking for ways to eat less meat without resorting to carb-centric diets. Almost Meatless provides ingenious tips for selecting quality meat, poultry, and seafood on a budget, and using them as enhancements--rather than the centerpiece--in a wide range of old stand-bys and versatile dishes. Timely and on trend, Almost Meatless offers delicious recipes that go light on the meat--maximizing health while minimizing the grocery bill.  Copies will be available at the market.

Hoagland Farm will be returning to the market this week and will feature sweet corn, string beans, red beets, onions, cherries, raspberries,  summer squash,  tomatoes,  cabbage, brocolli, asparagus, pork, and more...
The Mitchell Program will also have their first market of the season this weekend.  They will be bringing an assortment of items including veggies ready to be harvested, basil, cilantro, cut flowers, hand crafted items- bird house gourds and dream catchers.
Soap by Pat will not be at the farmers' market July 18 and 25, please plan accordingly.
Whole Hearted Bakery is always on the alert for local ingredients and this week will be selling Blueberry Pies and Muffins made with local blueberries.  They will be available weekly until the supply dries up. Then they will switch to peaches.

Buy Fresh Buy Local week begins this weekend and the Phoenixville Farmers' Market is celebrating with our annual festival.  Buy Fresh Buy Local is a thing you do and it is also a network in the Greater Philadelphia area that connects people to locally produced food while supporting the land and people that grow the food.  Buy Fresh Buy Local is the theme of every market, but we have some fun and tasty things planned for Saturday.
Bring your family to try out the Cherry Tomato Putt-Putt Game and create some buggy works of art with Victoria O'Neill
Enjoy the delicious samples of Tara Mataraza Desmond's Chimichurri Fajitas from her cookbook, Almost Meatless.  Try out a new Phoenixville specialty, cookie dough from the Handcrafted Cookie Co.; they will only be at the market this week and will feature tempting flavors like Chocolate Hotties and Lavender Vanilla.  You can view their website below to read more about the company and its cookie dough.
It is also a second Saturday which means that we will have artists sharing their functional and wearable art at the market.

Honey Glazed Grilled Plums
Recipe
Honey Glazed Grilled Plums

4 firm plums, halved and pitted (about 3/4 pound)
6 tablespoons honey
3 cups vanilla frozen yogurt

Grill the plums: Heat a grill to medium. Toss plums and 2 tablespoons honey in a large bowl. Liberally brush a grill rack with oil. Grill the plums, flesh side down, on the rack until lightly browned - about 3 minutes. Turn and grill on skin side until plums soften and are warmed through - 2 to 3 more minutes. Serve 2 plum halves with 3/4 cup yogurt immediately.
